What a beautiful B&B in Edinburgh, very easy to find coming from the airport, parking place and additional parking places nearby. Wonderful garden, very individual, beautiful rooms, typical breakfast in a warm colored room. Paintings and greeting cards from local artists are presented and can be bought - the combination of all that makes A Haven Townhouse a very special place to be. The sculpture in the garden is a perfect symbol for the warmhearting character of this B&B!

This hotel is ideally situated on the edge of Edinburgh but has bus stops located extremely close offering easy access to both the City Centre and Brittania, My room was on the top attic floor and was a very small single room - this was however highlighted at the time of booking and when I arrived and if, like me, you don't intend to spend much time in your room, it is absolutely fine. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and a real plus point of the hotel. Host David and staff were without exception friendly and extremely helpful. I certainly will be back!

Room Tip: If you have a small single room on the top floor and it is raining, be prepared to hear quite a bit...

This was our first visit to Scotland and we were particularly happy that we chose A-Haven as the place to stay, and thereby got to experience a genuine Scottish welcome. The host, David, is very kind, very helpful, with a good sense of humour. We also like Ian very much – we had to laugh when he jokingly said that breakfast at A-Haven would be served between 5 to 6 a.m.!! Location-wise, A-Haven is within easy reach of the city centre – the bus stop to downtown Edinburgh is just a few steps away from the main gate. We also enjoyed the free secure car park. Most importantly, we found the room very clean and tastefully furnished with a comfortable bed and en-suite facilities. Breakfast was also a delight. We also loved the garden. We went out for dinner for most of the evenings except for the last evening when we decided to stay in, to enjoy a bottle of wine personally recommended by David and a simple snack which tasted exceptionally good. All things considered, A-Haven felt like “home away from home” in Edinburgh. We would definitely stay there again on our next visit to Edinburgh and would not hesitate to recommend A-Haven to our family and friends.

Stayed 2 nights and found this Hotel was very comfortable . Host David was friendly and helpful especially when we arrived down for an early breakfast before 8am
It was good to have secure car parking.
Our room although on the small side was fine and had all we needed with a good sized ensuite .
Breakfast was excellent served in a pleasant dining room.
Noise from neighbouring rooms could be a problem if you had noisy neighbours as quite close together but fortunately we had no problem

This is an excellent place on the edge of Edinburgh with easy access to buses into Edinburgh, also a straight road to The Royal Yacht means you can take your car there. There is secure parking and David is very helpful with a quirky sense of humour. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice really well cooked and as much toast and great coffe as you want. Definitely would recommend this.

Room Tip: We were on the 2nd floor which is quite a hike up the stairs if you are elderly. Need to ask for a l...

My 4 nights 2 weeks ago was the most comfortable. The host David was most helpful, out of chit chat he would find out what I have planned, and proceed to look up bus time on his iPhone for me "next no.11 will be here in 7 mins". The B&B is very conveniently located on Ferry Road, served by the 2 bus stops. During the week the buses come every 10 mins, and it's only a 10 mins ride into centre. David also provide an excellent cooked breakfast (which you can adjust to your liking "full Socttish breakfast, without the black pudding, poached egg instead of fried, and 2 tomatoes please!!"), which I have no douth beat the one they offer at Permium Inn by the harbour (and the room is twice the price). The room is cleaned daily to the highest standard. As well as free wifi, David also provide a laptop for guests to use. I would definitely go back there again. :)

Room Tip: Special request? Just email David, he responses promptly, most helpful!
