2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 October 2012

Have stayed at this hotel many times with with work. Always on on day off get the smallest room with a single bed.so have to go out into town! Would never bring my family here to stay .
Premier inn down the road much better.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. It is obvious that we have failed to impress you but I am not clear as to what your issues are. If your company booked a single room for you , and you got a single room. I can’t see what the issue is, or why you have to go into town? If you were to bring your family we would be delighted to welcome them. You would obviously have to book a family room. Guests booked in by their companies into sole use accommodation regularly upgrade to family rooms if their family is joining them for a few nights. Perhaps if you contact our reservations team we can try to resolve the issues that you have and make your stays more pleasant.

Very nice appointed hotel in a good location the carpark offers good secure camera covered. hotel staff very nice and friendly good decor and rooms very nice.
Will defernetly be staying again with the hotel but only on a room only offer.

It has a Nice swiming area and steam/sauna rooms.

Only down side very expencive food on checking out the restaurant and i was going to be charged £12.00 for a breakfast Asda 5 mins away full english with tea £4.50 so neadless to say i did not eat in the hotel but the fact a bus stops out side 10 mins you are in the centre of Edinburgh and all the restaurant delights of the town.

Thank you for your kind revue following your stay.
Can I point out that Breakfast is £12.50 but only if you are not booked in on a BB rate or you walk in to the restaurant without booking. If you book BB it is only £7 more than Room Only rate. If you book in on room only you are given the opportunity at check-in to buy full breakfast at £10 and continental at £7.50. We have a grab and Go option at £3.33 from 6am to 11am. I would suggest if saving money was the main object then booking in on a BB basis with breakfast at £7 is probably cheaper than a bus each way to Asda. But we do offer the choice to all guests. And it is your prerogative to exercise your choice

We have stayed here before and keep coming back as the hotel is really good. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The facilities are good with a swimming pool, sauna and steam room as well as a gym and beauty spa. Rooms are well equipped and free wifi available. Breakfast is always good with plenty of choice as a buffet plus other things to order. The hotel is out of the centre but with a bus day pass costing £3.50 per person which gets you all over Edinburgh, you can't go wrong.

We stayed for two nights with friends at this hotel. It is situated on the coast to the south east of Edinburgh on a main bus route and five minutes walk from a train station. The staff were friendly and helpful in all our requests and the rooms pleasantly appointed. Whilst there, it was host to a number of conferences and touring coach parties, and this had a knock on effect in the main restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The key was timing for breakfast or using the alternate bistro for dinner which served up equally good food and a less formal atmosphere. Our room was on the main road but was still very quiet. There is a Spa but as we did not use it cannot comment. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel to friends and family. As a bonus it is also pet friendly and has free internet access!

Thank you for your kind comments regarding your recent stay. On a future stay it may be useful if you check with reception staff if the restaurant is expected to be busy at any particular time. It is obvious to your advantage, and of course ours, if you avoid the peak times. Please feel free to ask us about these things on future stays.

A weekend in Edinburgh for the Edinburgh Marathon. The family and I stayed here for the weekend as I had entered the Edinburgh Marathon. We arrived early in Edinburgh after getting the sleeper from London the previous night (Great experence). The staff on reception were helpfull and although our room wasn't ready the stored our bags as me set of for a day trip around Edinburgh and my daughter did a 1.5k run.
The hotel is not in cental Edinburgh but there are buses that stop outside and the hotel will gladly arrange a local taxi. Edinburgh is a lovely city and spent alot of time touring and seeing the sights (little more than I should have as a big day to follow).
We arrived back at the hotel to find our bags had been put in our roon and again the front desk staff were great, they advised that they had a special breakfast for marathon runners and had arranged a taxi share sceme to take runners to the race in the morning.
The room was comfortable and nicely decorated and the breakfast was great.
We had our evening meal at the hotel and the food was great, though the service a little sloq but I put this down to the popularity of the hotel with other runners.
All the hotel arrangements went well and I ran my first Marathon ( I also walked back after which was about 3/4 miles from the finish as all the buses were so full.

Nice swimming pool, steam room & sauna.

Thank you for your comments regarding your stay at the marathon. This is one of our busiest weekends of the year and our front desk team do a mountain of work behind the scenes providing information sheets, organising early breakfasts, past suppers and taxi shares. I am delighted that that their efforts are recognised. Unfortunately buses and taxis back from the finish is something we have not mastered yet as the streets are closed except for official vehicles. We are working on it Though! See you next year for an improved time!

Good comfortable, clean & convenient, staff friendly & helpful. Only complaint was with the restaurant, poor service & overcooked food. Bus stop right out front which let us spend a great day in Edinburgh, hotel stored cases while we went sightseeing and we were able to leave the car in their carpark.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I am disappointed that you did not find your restaurant experience up to standard. I have brought this comment to the attention of our food and beverage team who will most certainly take your comments on board

So pleased I found this hotel for a weekend away with my show cats. The Siamese were booked into a show in Edinburgh.Everywhere was heavily booked because of Madonnas concert on the Saturday night but I was fortunate to find this hotel available. The staff were lovely ,nothing too much trouble and front desk arranged a shared mini cab for me,(with other hotel guests)for Madonnas concert. As I was travelling solo, this was much appreciated.Must say how much fun I had.Really enjoyed my time with the other guests. The Scotts know how to party!!
My room was excellent I had upgraded to the best possible and was not disappointed.
Portobello beach was nearby and the location of this hotel makes for a good spot to explore the city.

Thank you for your kind review of your stay with us. Once again our front desk team came up trumps arranging shared taxis to the Madonna concert. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and hope that we can welcome you back in the near future.
