“Nice wee room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2014

I stayed for one night while working in Edinburgh. The hotel was easy to find from the south bypass. Check in went fine and I went to my room. It was a small single room but had everything I needed - other than electric sockets near the bed.
The room and bathroom were clean, well decorated and pleasant.
There was a wardrobe, desk, chair and tea/coffee tray. Not sure why it took me a couple of minutes to get the television to work properly, but once I did it was fine.
Plenty of free parking and easy access to the city centre.
All together a pleasant stay.

Thank you for your comments We will look at providing an extra power socket near the bed head.

Stayed for 2 nights it's a fab hotel? All the staff are lovely very clean and accommodating I can highly recommend, the only down side as we were with a large coach party was the waiting times with evening meals.
It's great for Edinburgh as there is bus stops right outside, all in all a great trip thank you

Thank you for posting your review. I am sorry if you felt dinner service was slow. Some companies need everyone to be served all together as they need to be finished in time to go to tattoo or similar events. Catering for 30 or 40 all at once is obviously slightly different to a table of two, but we aim to have everyone served well with 90 minutes for 3 courses plus coffee.

Stayed here during our visit to Edinburgh for the 2014 Military Tattoo and i was taken back by the size of the room.. 154 is a stunning rooms, with views to the back so no noisy traffic.. Very well decorated and so comfortable. This is one of their CLUB ROOMS, with some little touches.

the buffet breakfast was amazing, but far too much to choose from!! super friendly staff and made you feel really welcome.

Bar Zest is a good place for an evening meal.. Steak and Ale Pie a MUST!!! FANTASTIC..

Could not fault to room at all. Fantastic stay and will be back next year.

Room Tip: Club rooms are amazing.

Green Features: They are doing a lot on this level from recycling, electric cards so that when you take the card out, no electric in the room is on. Night light in the bathroom, Towels to be changed at your leisure, just so much better.

We stayed here for two nights as we were going to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. We arrived very early at the airport on the first day and went to the hotel to drop our cases off. They were more than willing to hold the cases for us as our rooms were quite understandably not available at that time. The bus costs £3.50 for a day pass. Bus 44 stops right outside the hotel.
We didn't get back to the hotel until 9.30pm to check in which was not a problem with them. We then found we had been upgraded to club rooms rooms which were fantastic. They were on the first floor and there is a lift available. The beds were so comfortable and we all had very good sleep here.
Before breakfast I went for a swim in the 20 metre pool which only had 5 other people in, it was a great way to start the day. It was free and they provided towels.
Breakfast was buffet style with cereals, yoghurt, fruit, pastries followed by a cooked breakfast and toast all with juices, tea and coffee more than enough to set you up for the day.
The next night after the Tattoo we took a taxi back and it cost £13.50 which wasn't bad at all. Although we didn't get back until midnight there was still a very warm welcome on reception for us.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful which made our stay at the hotel a wonderful time. The rooms were spotlessly clean as well. All in all this hotel was fantastic value for money and although a few miles out of town I would definitely recommend it for stays in Edinburgh.
As other people have commented there is a beach near by but we just ran out of time to go and see it but maybe next time ......

We have just returned from a 3 day stay at this, hotel and cannot praise it enough!!! The staff were all helpful, polite and very efficient, the facilities could not be faulted and the food of a high quality and for the money was excellent value, and we have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for any trips to Edinburgh. Also the train and bus services are very cheap and very close to the hotel, taxis cost us around £11 to or from the city centre. I have stayed at other best western hotels which were also of a high standard but this was exceptional with having the spa and leisure facilities, which due to a busy schedule we did not manage to take advantage of but looked to be of a high standard, RECOMMEND*********
