I went to stay in Balmoral on a Business trip for two days even though I am a resident of Edinburgh. My stay was so comfortable and facilities were so good that my business meeting went absolutely fantastic. The staff are just superb and provide an exceptional service. The variety of snacks and their availability just impressed me and my colleagues. It being located in the heart of the city and well connected by public transport, none of my staff or clients faced any troubles in finding the hotel and travelling to it.

Room Tip: corner suites give you a beautiful panoramic view of the Arthur's seat, which happens to be a fa...

Fantastic hotel, staff very friendly warm and genuine. The front office manager Ms. Yvonne was so helpful, and her personal attention was very appreciated. Can't wait to come back again in the future!

Room Tip: The views of the castle and the city are stunning!

stayed on a wednesday night in October.
Used the hotel valet parking service which was excellent.
the hotel is in a fantastic possition at the Heart of everything in Edinburgh.
The hotel was providing the function that i was staying for that night.
Everything went very well the evening meal which catered for 200 Guests was fantastically cooked.
the rooms are spacious with a good sized bathroom.
went down for breakfast and had to wait 15 minutes for a waiter to ask me if i needed tea or coffee which was a little disapointing othe than this small blip a very enjoyable stay.

The hotel was beautiful. Upon arrival we noticed one round table filled with candles and white flowers. There was homemade fudge on a number of desks.
The staff was very thorough, helpful and warm.
I booked a room with breakfast and I was not sorry. What a amazing selection of hot and cold foods to choose from besides the foods you can order from the chief.
It's location could not have been better.
The only negative, the bathroom was a bit small.

Room Tip: I always request a room away from the service area. It is quieter. Our room overlooked the main squ...

This has to be one of the leading hotels in the world? Very impressed with the professional and highly hospitable staff. Superb location right by Waverley Station in the centre of town and what a town to visit, everybody should. The Bollinger Bar is where to hang for HH or afternoon tea. The buffet breakfast may be number one for the content and varied presentation. A truly remarkable experience to be repeated.

Room Tip: Ask for a suite upgrade

I was married at the Balmoral earlier on this year and would just like to say it was the most unbelievable day of my life. The staff are friendly, warm and cannot do enough to please. It was a dream to have the most wonderful day of my life there. I would say that if you can afford to stay here or even get married here, do it, it is unbelievable! Thank you once again.

We stayed here for one night with our two children, on a special deal for two interconnecting rooms, with breakfast. Full price would have been ridiculous, over £800, but we had a family deal where we paid less than half,£340. At this price, with the breakfast, it was a very good deal and not much more than we would have paid for two rooms B&B in a very ordinary hotel.

Location was excellent, walking distance from all the sights, shopping and restaurants. The first rooms we were given were on the 2nd floor and enormous, although decorated in a rather dingy colour scheme (fashionable I'm sure, but not to our taste though we could have lived with it); unfortunately they overlooked the main road and roadworks and so we asked for something quieter. The staff were very helpful and upgraded us immediately to castle view rooms on the 4th floor. These were a little smaller but very quiet and with fabulous views (decor more cheerful too). Our daughter was very impressed with the teddy she was given.

Breakfast was excellent although the service was initially hit and miss (improved later though, when they were less busy and someone spotted we hadn't been offered tea or coffee). Elsewhere the service was impeccable and everyone was extremely helpful. The children were made very welcome by all the staff and no-one minded that we were all rather scruffier than the grand surroundings!
