“The final let-down”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

I've stayed here several times before. Wetherspoon's hotels are good, very well fitted and maintained, and exceptional value. But this one was let down by an appalling breakfast. Ordered, 15 minutes pass, we think 'Great, it must be cooked to order'. 25 minutes pass & it arrives, totally frizzled, the egg could stand upright on its edge with a little support, the bacon shattered if you tried to cut it, etc, Shame, really.

Room Tip: They're all good

As a mixed group, we stayed here for 2 nights. We found the staff friendly and helpful, our room was clean, tidy and well decorated. The bar and dining area was warm with a nice atmosphere. The food and accommodation are excellent value for money. Although approx 5 miles from the centre there are plenty of buses and taxis are around £12. Our trip coincided with St Andrews day and the crowds in Edinburgh were unbelievable so we settled back at the White Lady after finding a fabulous Indian restaurant a 2 minute walk away. A chilled and enjoyable evening was had by all. Highly recommended to all.

Room Tip: We were at the rear of the hotel so no traffic noise. Family room as a double was spacious

£69 double room with breakfast and parking near the centre of Edinburgh - super value. Nice rooms, clean, comfortable. Weatherspoons pub downstairs was lively but friendly and you couldn't hear any noise once you were back upstairs.

Good value food for supper, and for breakfast you have £6 a head to spend, which is actually pretty hard to do! Calorie content written on the menus which is a nice touch. We bought a couple of extra smoothies to take with us. We walked into Edinburgh centre which is a good 2-3 miles, but bus stop is right outside £1.50 per person.

If you're after supreme luxury and romance, this isn't it. But good value, fairly central location - spot on for our needs.

Room Tip: May be worth asking for a room at the back as near the road it's a little noisy in the mornings.

We stayed here just last weekend and we were apprehensive as not only was this a Weatherspoons hotel but it was the weekend of the Scotland vs Australia Rugby match at Murrayfield which is a 20 minute walk from this hotel. We need not have worried. Despite the fact that fans were out drinking all night and this is a bar on the bottom floor, we slept very well, heard no noise, the bed was comfortable and the room stylish. The reception staff were as helpful as they could possibly be, explaining about the buses (£1.50 into Edinburgh), giving advise on travelling with a car and even telling us what kind of duvet was on the bed when we said how comfortable it was. If you are staying here, book through the hotel themselves as it is the same price as late rooms, but you get breakfast included. Will definately stay here again.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor and heard nothing from downstairs.

We will definitely be staying here again.
The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you.
The room was large with a very comfortable bed, tv, kettle, tea coffee and biscuits.
The parking was spot on and there is a bus stop outside that takes you directly into Edinburgh Centre.

A negative would be that the food was not very good - pretty bog standard fayre.

Was apprehensive as first time going to a Wetherspoons hotel, but after visiting this one i must say i would certainly consider others in the group now. Bedroom was excellent and extremely clean. Food typical Wetherspoons but if that is not your thing numerous eating places very close by. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, parking free and a 10 minute bus journey into Edinburgh centre, bus stop at hotel door and buses seem to be every 2 or 3 minutes.Would not hesitate to return, however would say our stay was mid week and would imagine week ends may be somewhat noisy.

We had a super stay at the White Lady. The rooms were large with a good sized bathroom. Warm and comfortable bed. The food was good and unlike most of the Wetherspoon hotels, breakfast was included in the price. It is only 20 minutes out of the city and cost just £1.50 for a single fare. The hotel was nice and quiet. Our room was over the car park and we were not disturbed. A great break.
