Owner description: Eat walk Edinburgh offer two Food walking tours. One explores Edinburgh's Old & New towns and the other the lower half of the Royal Mile called the Canongate. On each of these tours you will visit unusual/hidden restaurants, bars and shops. There will be five food tastings and three drink tastings on the tour. The guide will talk about the history of the area as you walk between venues. The Old & new Town tour (1pm-4.30pm) which has five food stops with a Edinburgh Raspberry Gin, Scottish beer and a single cask malt whisky tasting ensuring you will not need to worry about dinner in the evening. The Canongate tour (10am-1pm) enjoys six stops including a Bloody Mary cocktail and breakfast canapes to get the tour off and running. By the end there will be no need for lunch. The Old & New town tour was recommended in BBC Good Food Magazine as a "Don't miss" thing to do in Edinburgh. Delicious magazine also has it down as a must do.

Had a fantastic time with the lady who introduce us (me and my husband) to their culture. We recommend this to all people who wants to visit Edinburgh! Excellent!

Alan Chalmers, our guide for Eat Walk Edinburgh, was the consummate tour guide. His witty, interesting tour provided us a fantastic overview of Edinburgh as first-time visitors. The foods we enjoyed were outstanding...like a five course meal...separated with short walks...with history lessons and stories at every corner. It was the highlight of our quick getaway from Germany. A very memorable and unique way to discover Edinburgh. Highly recommend!

Arrived in Edinburgh in the morning and took the tour early afternoon. Alan was friendly and knowledgeable plus the pace was easy considering we had not slept the previous night being en route. We very much enjoyed the food and drink and the venues we visited. It was an excellent way to start our visit to fabulous Edinburgh.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review it is greatly appreciated.

I am glad my chat didn't put you to sleep after your long flight.

Although the tour covers over two miles as we meander through the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh it is broken up with stops every 10-15 minutes where we have table reservations for people to sit and relax while enjoying the food and drink tastings.

Had a fantastic tour of Edinburgh, whilst eating and drinking in some fabulous places. A lot of the places we were taken to, we would never had known existed if we had not gone on this tour. Julie was a great tour guide who was very knowledgable and made everyone feel relaxed. All the food was of a high standard and it was great fun trying out the whiskey at The Whiskey Society, and Haggis and Tatties. Would highly recommend it

Very much appreciate you taking the time to write a review I am glad you enjoyed the tour with Julie.

We try to take people to bars and restuarants they might not find on their own when usually on a short stay in Edinburgh.

Loved this Eat Walk Edinburgh tour, our guide was absolutely fantastic, not only did she take us to wonderful food memories but was a talking encyclopedia on the history of Edinburgh, extremely informative. I would recommend this tour to any one who is even remotely interested in food - and honestly who isn't?? Small group tour so advantageous. Love love loved it
