“Very Relaxing Stay”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

The hotel is ideally located for access to the city and the airport. They have ample parking and all the facilities you would need.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable.

There are a couple of restaurants available for evening meals, plus the bar menu. I chose to eat in the Chinese restaurant, which was OK - I can't comment on the other restaurant or bar menu.

One thing I can say is the staff in all areas of the hotel are outstandingly helpful and cannot do enough for you.

I'd also like to mention the ladies on reception (I don't have their names sadly) but they went above and beyond and for that reason I would certainly stay here again.

One was a younger girl with dark curly hair who checked me out on 7th Nov. The other had an English accent, glasses and silvery/blonde hair.

Excellent service.

This is a good hotel of the Holday Inn brand that works very well for a short passage. The staff are very good and helpfull and there is a complete service of three diferents restaurants in the lobby . The rooms are good , comfortable but a little bit smaller. The breakfast is complete but not so appropriate for people that have the restriction to eat sugar like diabetic ones , as myself. There is also a Spa and a Gym in the facilities .

Room Tip: I think the best ones must be facing the lateral of the building, because the others in the front an...

Good stay for a nearby conference. Comfy and quiet room.

Astonishing that the hotel charges for broadband, which I provide FREE to my visitors in my tourism business. Also, 3 Meg is certainly not the high speed promised, and is exactly half of what I get at home in rural Perthshire.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay.
We are delighted to hear that your stay was very comfortable.
WIFI in the hotel remains chargeable until Jan 2014 when this will become complimentary for all our IHG reward club members. I will however pass on your feedback with regards to the internet speed.
I do hope you choose to stay with us again.

I would like to start with the hotel Food, breakfast offered everything you can think of, from full English breakfast to cereal to freshly cooked pancakes at a press of a button to simple toast and bakery. You sit down and you are greeted with a offer of tea and coffee at your table and then you can pick which kind of breakfast your having, to re-fill of apple and orange drink. You also had your fresh fruit and yoghurt to choose from as well.

The hotel room was tidy and lovely fresh towels, and clean beds. They are standard but well better than Travelodge and I will start using Holiday Inn hotel from now on, the service and customer service was great.

We had on our last night had food in the hotel and I will admit this is a bit expensive but the food was nice non the less.

When we checked out we went to visit the zoo and the hotel would keep your suit cases with no charge and you can leave them there all day till you collect them to travel home.

You can get the bus from right outside the hotel its £1.50 for a single on the bus or £3.50 for a day ticket and you can get it into the city centre.

I would stay here as its great location, next to Zoo, and great hotel with quality food to keep you going for the rest of the day.

Room Tip: All room are the same but if your traveling with friend get a room with single beds are they be flip...

I have just returned from a two night stay at the Edinburgh Holiday Inn with my family and am so impressed with the service that we received that I am writing my first ever Tripadvisor review! My wife, two sons and I stayed on the top floor at the back of the hotel in a room with plenty of bed space even for our two lads - not just pull-out beds, but proper mattresses for all! We had booked a DB&B 2 night deal on Superbreak. Although we had a couple of minor issues with the food on the first evening, our comments were very swiftly and efficiently dealt with. In fact the service we received from the staff in the dining room (Luke et al) and from the duty manager Claire was outstanding - better than many, if not all, of the hotels we have ever stayed in. The steaks from the grill menu were excellent. If you are looking for a great place to take the kids in Edinburgh, this has to be my top recommendation and its location right next to the zoo is unbeatable! We will be back, without a doubt. Many thanks Claire to you and your team for a great break.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms at the back are quieter and if you choose the East side you have a lovely view acros...

We have just returned from a two night stay here and enjoyed it so much I am posting my first Tripadvisor review. As on our first visit here last year our room was clean and comfortable, breakfast excellent and all facilities, including the leisure centre (for which there is no extra charge) well maintained. It is the level of service in this hotel which I believe is really worthy of comment as we have found that all members of staff at this hotel to be both professional, cheerful and friendly. In our experience it is not usual to find staff in such large establishments making such an effort to treat guests as valued individuals. The staff are attentive but never overbearing which results a relaxing stay. We were particularly touched by the balloons, cake, card and small gift provided in our room for my daughter's birthday, a lovely gesture which typifies the attention to detail here. We look forward to returning in the future.

We had two family rooms for one night, in a room where you can actually see over the wall inside the zoo. A few strange noises coming out of there during the early evening but very comfortable rooms and good breakfast.

We stayed during a busy weekend and the restaurant was busy at breakfast but there was a good selection of food available on the buffet even if the staff were struggling to keep the tables cleared
