Comfortable room, courteous staff and great breakfast Ideal for visiting Edinburgh. We had a room overlooking the car park at the back of the hotel but due to it being so close to Edinburgh Zoo (next door!) We could see 4 Gorilla's in there enclosure. The bed was a nice size and lovely pillows!! I would love to come back again as it was so easy to get into the city centre and back, as it is located on a major bus route.

One word of advice make sure you eat out or going to Tesco's if you need snacks or drinks. It is really expensive if you eat there!!!

Never disappointed by this hotel. Comfortable room, courteous staff and great breakfast
Ideal for visiting edinburgh.
We had a room overlooking the carpark at the back of the hotel. Very quiet and a well appointed room and bathroom.
Everywhere was clean and tidy and in good repair. Have visited before and will again!

The walls were a bit thin, so sleeping was hard. The furnishings were also a bit worn. Other than that, this was a great hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was fun and nice, and breakfast was great. Also the hotel was conveniently located on a major bus route into the city centre.

I decided to take my 3 year old son on a trip to the zoo in Edinburgh. To my surprise when we got there the hotel I booked was right next door to the zoo. Literally on the doorstep. I didn't think it was that close. The room was clean and well presented and the staff were polite and courteous. However, I found it extremely disappointing that there was no free wifi at this hotel. You had to pay and extortionate amount for it. Suffice to say I did not purchase it. Surely free wifi is of standard nowadays. Also I was a little annoyed that it cost £8.50 for a large red wine. However, the breakfast was nice and again the staff were friendly and polite. It's perfect for the zoo but I would suggest you bring your own wine and beer as this place is expensive.

Stayed here for 1 night as we had a trip to Edinburgh Zoo planned. Very handy as the hotel is pretty much joined to the zoo (about 1 minute walk round the corner, if that). Being customers at the hotel also meant we could leave our car in the free hotel car park instead of paying £4 for the zoo one.

The hotel room itself was basic, but this was fine for what we needed. Paid £53 for a Standard room with King Size bed. I would suggest paying the extra fiver for a King Size bed as it provided us with a great nights sleep. Had a selection of hard and soft pillows to choose from on our bed which also contributed. The only qualm I have regarding the bed is the bedding. Had a few holes in and stains on so could probably do with being replaced but they were clean. General décor was a bit dated but what do you expect from a budget hotel chain.

The bathroom was also a bit dated, but everything was working absolutely fine. Realised we had forgotten to bring toothpaste with us so rang reception and within 2 minutes a member of staff had brought some up to us (no extra charge). It's little things like that that prove they are a customer focused company.

Overall, great value, basic accommodation. No frills but you get what you pay for! Would stay again.

My partner and I stayed overnight last night and were very pleased with our stay. Although the car park was full we used the Edinburgh Zoo parking right behind the hotel and our £4 charge was immediately refunded when we checked into the hotel. Our room was a large family room on the 5th floor. Apart from the shower not working we could not fault the room. The breakfast was lovely and as it was a buffet style you could eat as much as you wanted. I even made myself pancakes in the pancake maker. Reception staff and breakfast staff were very professional and helpful.
All in all good value for money in a pleasant room in a good hotel. We will return.

We stayed 1 night in this hotel as we were going to the theatre. Rooms are big and a good standard. We got the bus into the city centre, buses are every 5 mins and cost £3, we got a taxi back later that night for £10.
This hotel has parking which is a bonus.
Would recommend and stay again :-)
