“Small restaurant, beautiful food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2014

Set in what appears to be a space a big as someone's front room you can get some of the best Italian food in Edinburgh. Despite being small, the place was buzzing and gave us the perfect setting for a romantic meal. The menu isn't extensive but they offer a decent selection of specials and the wine is very reasonably priced. For this reason you must book to stand a chance of getting a table.

“Easter Sunday at this wonderful little Italian!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2014

Deciding that we fancied italian, it was a quick look on Trip Advisor to see what was recommended and this was the first one to come up, a phone call later and we were booked in for the evening.
We arrived to find a lovely, intimate restaurant, the majority of the 10 tables were taken up, we had a nice little window table. The menu had a decent selection of pizzas, (looking at the pictures is making me hungry) not so many pasta options though. My boyfriend had garlic bread & mozerella to start, and I had Bruschetta Crudo, both delicious. Lasagne for my boyfriend for main, and I went with the lighter option of Goats Cheese salad. Fairly large portions, and really tasty. I even managed to squeeze in dessert, Tiramisu. It was deliciously light and just the perfect end to the meal.
It's great that they do a BYOB on a Monday and Tuesday, but really the drinks aren't overly expensive, we had a bottle of Processo that was £19.95, which is very reasonable.
Definitely worth a visit if you a after a friendly and value for money Italian.

“A classic little Gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014

After being told how good it was by them friends of ours finally took us for dinner here on Easter Sunday. Not sure if everyone has said the same thing but first impression was the size - its a teeny wee place! Maybe eight tables? Anyway largely irrelevant since its about the food and service which were excellent. Wife and I shared the small (meaty) Antipasto sharing platter which was lovely. Great mix of flavours with fresh warm bread, garlic butter and a lovely rich black olive tapenade. To follow we both had pizzas - one from the menu and one from the specials board. Both excellent - thin, crispy, lovely tomato base and not over the top with cheap mozzarella like may pizza restaurants. Was topped off with a lovely Pinot Grigio and all in all great experience. Also - was totally amazed to see that they do delivery t the local area so its good bye large Chain Pizza delivery place, hello Origano!

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2014 via mobile

Was a bit out the way for us but decided to try based on these reviews and we were not disappointed.
We came on a Tuesday which is byo on wine for a £3 a bottle corkage charge.
We had a antipasti sharer plate which was beautiful!!
I had the goats cheese salad - the best I've ever had, my partner had a pizza which he says was delicious; all for £27 - bargain.
Really intimate restaurant that was starting to really fill up, several drop ins were turned away so I would suggest booking.
One of the best Italian restaurants we have been to, bypass the bigger chain restaurants in town - Bella Italia, pizza express etc and have an authentic meal here, you won't be disappointed and you'll pay the same price.
