“Big portion sizes”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

The menu here is fairly small and prices are high. However, big portion sizes make up for the price. This can explain why tourists always like to stop here! Service wasn't overly friendly but if you fancy greasy food, then pizza paradise is the place to go.

“A Fringe fuel-stop”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

With so many restaurants bumping up their prices during August due to the Fringe Festival/Tattoo, this place is my regular haunt for an enormous, cheap slice of pizza between seeing shows.

It's not an authentic, wood-fired Italian pizza, it's a UK takeaway. If you bear this in mind, and want something cheap and filling in the centre of town, this is the place.

“no frills Italian”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

Average food, my wifes lasagne was made with fatty gristly meat. When we asked for a Pinot Grigio wine, we were told that Chardonnay is the same! Cheap and cheerful if you are stuck for somewhere to eat without a booking.

“Overcharged!”
Reviewed 14 August 2013

Went here just before going to watch the Tattoo - didn't have much choice or time - and all of the other restaurants around about were queued out the door. Spotted this restaurant and it looked busy but not queued out the door so we decided to give it a go. Service was a bit patchy and we had to ask to order drinks. We ordered 2 pizza's, a risotto and scampi. All in all, the food was good - not burnt - and was tasty - no complaints at all about the quality of food from what looks like a cafe-type venue. However, I did notice that a lot of the tables were querying their bills so when ours came it was checked - we had been charged £16.20 for 6 (small) cokes!!!! We had only ordered 3, so the bill was sent back. To be charged £2.70 for a small coke (not even half a pint and obviously out of a bottle!) is utterly ridiculous but obviously how they make their money during the Fringe and Tattoo - surprisingly though, my large glass of house white wine was only £3.20 - go figure!!! Overall, the food was OK but I won't be rushing back the next time I am in Edinburgh.

“The worst Pizza”
Reviewed 9 July 2013

Don't let the name fool you. This was the worst pizza I have ever had. We were pretty sure that they were frozen Pizzas and they just put a few toppings on them. Don't wast your money. the only upside was that the people were nice.
