Stayed here for a long weekend and would stay here again! In a good location (not right downtown but still very central). The rooms were new, clean, and the decor was very modern. The furnishings reminded me of an Ikea store. As others have said, the hallway was like walking into a sauna and the room wasn't well ventilated. But otherwise we had a great stay!
Due to construction work in the up-and-coming locale in which the hotel is situated, it was extremely difficult to find, even with the assistance of several sat-nav devices. (There was no disturbance due to the building works surprisingly)
However, once we'd arrived, there was a friendly and professional greeting from the Marriott staff, including free cookies on the bar. The rooms are large and spotlessly clean, with a superb, spacious power shower, and smart kitchenette including toaster, fridge, and microwave.
The breakfast was excellent (sausages, bacon, eggs, etc), but the dining area a little cramped. This was compounded on that particular morning, by a diner overload due to an impromptu fire alarm harsh awakening that morning around 07:30!
I'd certainly stay again, and would recommend highly to anyone.
The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large, clean, and have confortable seating and beds. The bathroom is small but the shower is quite nice with lots of pressure and a shower head that changes flow types. The breakfast room is small and crowded but the food selection is good. The location is convenient to shopping, eating, and attractions. Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed just the one night and enjoyed the stay apart from trying to find the place! Our Satnav couldnt find and had to phone hotel who gave us another post code for a bldg which at least got us close. Quite a lot of building work in the area, plus as pouring with rain didnt help trying to find. Car park is bldg next door and we were on 5th floor and like others it was very hot in the corridors, hotel staff said they are trying to resolve with bldg owners. Room was a decent size and if here for a few days sure all the kitchen equipment would be very handy. Bed very comfortable and shower was excellent, no variations in temperature and nice and powerful.
Breakfast a little chaotic in finding a table anywhere in the reception area but once that is sorted a good choice of hot and continental. Staff were very welcoming.
Added bonus if you stay here is Indaba restaurant, also on Trip Advisor is just a 10 minute walk.
On arrival I was given a cracking room on the top floor with a balcony. This was very well designed and furnished and spotlessly clean. The service from the staff was universally excellent. The breakfast is good but a bit cramped in the foyer.
The location is excellent, on the edge of the Meadows and easily accessible to the City itself. On the downside, parking and access to the hotel requires a trail of breadcrumbs to find your way around and is not cheap.
Overall, I would certainly be back
This is not a US residence inn. It began operations Dec. 2011 and is a very poor design concept and operatioally not ready for consumption. We stayed on the 7th (top) floor and when we entered the hall way the heat was incredible. It is unairconditioned and there is no ventilation. Our room was very small, but not the smallest as they said they were booked.To cool the room we had a large sliding door which opened to an uncovered balcony and it was raining. The kitchen faucet had the hot and cold water reversed(no big deal) but in the shower they had a single lever faucet also that changed the temp from very cold to very hot every few seconds. Management said they were aware of the situation but had not found a solution. The bathroom lavatory(very, very small) and the toilet/shower(also very small) are separated by a pocket door. When you turn the light in the toilet on the light in the lavatory is also on. There is no door separating the lavatory from the bedroom. Housekeeping continually removed the wash cloths and did not replace them. We had to call the front desk three times to send us some wash cloths. Housekeeping also did not replace the instant coffee in the room. It may be that Marriott is using this hotel as a sort of boot camp for staff so they will learn to stay pleasant under adverse situations.
