This apartment is in a great location right on the royal mile. We could see the castle from our bedroom window!

The apartment is clean and tidy and had everything you would need for a short stay.

Towels and the usual stuff was provided and the guy who showed us to our apartment helpfully pointed out a few places to visit and places to get lunch etc.

The water pressure in the bathroom wasn't great but the building is old and this is a common problem in the Old Town so it wasn't unexpected.

It is also necessary to climb three flights of stairs (well it was for our apartment). Again, given the age of the building I don't think you could be annoyed or surprised by this.

I would recommend this apartment to anyone looking to explore the city. Very happy with all aspects of our booking.

I stayed in one of the two bedrooms apartments with my wife and daughter. The apartment was tastefully decorated, fully furnished, warm and spotlessly clean. The service was friendly and efficient. The price for a two bedroom apartment was the same if not lower than what I was quoted for a bare double room at one of the chains hotels in the same neighbourhood. Yes, they could take the medieval building down, fit a glass elevator, refurbish the whole thing, but then the character and charm would be gone. And if you want room service and carpets on the stairs just book yourself in one of the £££ hotel up the road rather than in a self-catering apartment. If on the contrary you are looking for a great accommodation in the middle of the historic town, with plenty of space (and a few stairs to climb) at a great value for money look no further.

Myself and my two daughters had the pleasure of staying in the apartments for one night for my daughter's 22nd birthday. We had booked a ghost tour for the night and the meeting place was a very short walk away near to St. Giles Cathedral which was a brilliant experience, going to the cemetery with a tour guide from Black heart entertainment. The area was along the Royal mile and had everything on your doorstep and a lovely atmosphere with great views of Edinburgh. The apartments were very secure with a coded gate, the stone staircase leading to the apartments is quite narrow so we needed to watch our step, however on entering the apartments we were not disappointed. They were very warm, spacious and comfotable. Beds were very clean and comfortable we all had a great nights sleep. We were provided with tea, coffee, milk and sugar and all modern appliances were available. The shower and bath were quite small but clean and well maintained. Overall we would not hesitate to recommend the apartments, the staff were also very friendly and we would definately go back again.

We have just got back from a wonderful trip to Edinburgh. Four of us stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. Location couldn't have been better, our apartment was above some shops on the Royal Mile, central to all the action! There was a tight staircase up to the apartment so beware of this, however, the apartment was definitely worth the climb. Large bedrooms with big comfy beds. Living room overlooked the high street. Kitchen had everything we needed, including a dishwasher which was a nice treat. Modern bathroom with a powerful shower.

The apartment is walking distance to everything you might want to see in Edinburgh; only a 3 minute walk from the castle, and directly above shops, bars and restaurants.

We would definitely choose to stay in these apartments again, they have bags of character and are in the ideal location.

Thanks to the staff at Stay Edinburgh who were very efficient at replying to emails regarding the room.

Room Tip: 219 High Street, Apartment 7- Beautiful!

We had a one bedroomed apartment right at the top of the royal mile by the castle. There were 3 flights of stairs to master with our heavy luggage (staying for 5 days). The actual apartment block is very tatty inside, could do with some modernising and a lift for guests staying on the third or fourth floor. Once inside the apartment was nice enough, had everything that we needed and became a good central base from which to explore the beautiful city of edinburgh. One niggle was the minute bathroom. literally couldnt turn round from the sink to the shower, not great. Our bedroom overlooked the royal mile and as the building features original windows don't expect much sound-proofing, we were constantly woken throughout the night by people leaving the pub opposite and vans/lorries early morning.
Overall our stay in edinburgh was fantastic, I would recommend the city to anyone, however, would I stay in the apartments again? Maybe........
