3 of us went to Jongleurs at Lava & Ignite. The first thing I noticed was incense sticks up all around the bar. Moving into the hall revealed why the staff needed them around the bar, the place was really smelly. We had pre-ordered food and drinks. A staff error meant that our order had been taken incorrectly so we had to wait a while for food and drinks (the food arriving first). 2 of our 3 meals were tasty, but the burger tasted like a microwave burger, not tasty at all. Some of the acts were really funny but 1 of them was so poor I felt embarrassed for him. At interval they had 2 members of staff to pour the drinks for circa 100 people with table service stopped. There was only 20 mins interval and considering there were 1 stag and 2 hen do's it was a busy busy bar. After the final act, about 5 security guards descended and forced us to move to the tacky nightclub upstairs. We were almost finished our drinks and just wanted to relax for 10 minutes to talk about the show together whilst finishing our drinks and going home. Being forced up to the nightclub was enough to push is to leave our drinks and call it a night rather than encouraging us to stay for longer and spend more money.

Had a fantastic night in Jongleurs, within Lava & Ignite.

We laughed, ate, drank and danced the night away without having to leave the building (and in Scotland weather thats a great thing)!

Will return to this venue. Genuinely have nothing bad to say!

Visited Jongleurs comedy club on 22nd October 2011. Amazing place, it's huge! Comedy show was set up in what was the main room of the nightclub and was transformed back afterwards.
Staff were lovely and friendly from the moment we walked in, they showed us to our seats which were near the front great view!
It was my friends birthday (manager had phoned us during the week and asked if she could do anything special as it was her birthday) and they had laid out balloons and even a small box of chocs for her on the table, lovely!
Food was great, good range, chicken burger was particularly nice! Rounded it off with a tub of Ben and Jerry's Ice cream, someone came round at interval just like in American Movies I thought!
Prices weren't too bad, average £7/8 for a meal, cocktails pitchers were about £12 and 6 of us got a good drink each of of it.
Comedians were great as well, very funny and talked to audience a lot.
We stayed afterwards for the nightclub and visited each room after as they all played different music. Liked the upstairs room the best, cheesy tunes!
Great value for money for what we got, we used a code that got us 2 4 1 tickets - EDIN241 if anyone else would like it!
Excellent night overall!

We went to Lava & Ignite as part of their Jongleurs Comedy Club evening on 7th October using a Groupon voucher costing only £10pp for the Comedy Club, a burger and a glass of bubbly. Although we were staying in central Edinburgh but it was only a 15 minute walk down to West Tollcross Street. On arrival were shown to our seats and given the drinks and food menus and the waitress explained to us how to pre-order drinks for the interval as the bars were closed while the comedians were on stage. The bubbly was lovely, the burger was huge and lovely, the comedians were very funny and the pitcher of Sex on the Beach was particularly nice made with pineapple and cranberry juice. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. After the comedians finished, the room was transformed into one of the 3 options for the nightclub and although we didnt stay (felt bit too old) there was a huge queue in the street to get in. An excellent night out at a more than reasonable price.
