Beautiful Museum - definitely worth a visit - can spend all day in the Museum as it so big and has recently been re-done. Good when the weather is good or bad - so much to see and also good for children if you take them and right outside is Greyfriars Bobby such a lovely story also in a short distance from each other.

The section of the museum that concentrates on the Scottish wars for independence, the Jacobin uprising, and unity with England is particularly good. The story line here contrasts well with that in the military museum at the Edinburgh Castle--I'd recommend seeing both.

Great for all ages. Cant believe it is free..I believe there should be an entrance fee for this, or perhaps a card with a one off fee, that admits you for a year !

Almost too big: I meant to seek out those tiny coffins, and forgot. However, it was the last thing I was seeing for the day, and I was footsore and tired. I am coming back in August with family, and will definitely bring grandchildren as there's lots for them to do.

Thank Judith M
