Not our first visit to the Black Bull on a Sunday night, great atmosphere created by entertainer Graeme E Pearson with his range of music suitable for all. The bar staff are always pleasant too. Looking for something to do in Edinburgh on a Sunday night then this is the place to go.

Really liked this place (we popped in for a pint every day during our stay!) It's nothing fancy but it doesn't try to be. We had food one day, it was ok but nothing special, this is more of a place to grab a pint with friends. Good selection of drinks and reasonable prices (plus student discount!!), the outside area is good for people watching, and the staff are friendly. It had a very friendly vibe, there were customers from all over the world and we never felt like tourists!

Called in for a wee drink after visiting the city. The Black Bull staff were very helpful! We didn't stay to eat but had a look at the menu and the food being served around us which looked fab! Fantastic clean, modern ladies toilets! Well Done!

Had a pint of Musselburgh Broke which is named after the racecourse on the outskirts of Edinburgh. thankfully at 3.80 a pint it didn't break me too much. I took the pint outside to sit at a spare table in the fenced-in enclosure but was told it was for people eating meals only. A little embarrassed I took my pint back and found a table to share by the pub doorway. Managed to get a bit of the glorious sun on my right elbow !

My husband and I popped in the Black Bull on arrival in Edinburgh for a drink, whiskey obviously.

A warm welcome and friendly local pub.

We actually went back the following evening to have the tradition haggis, nips and tatties with a great whiskey sauce.

A real must to pop to for a drink and the more traditional Scottish food.
