My first visit was on a very warm summer evening -not something that we are used to in Edinburgh.

The food was first class for starter and main course-was slightly disappointed with the desserts however. Service was acceptable but new member of staff was very nervous and it showed.

However it was a comfortable environment on an exceptionally warm night.

Thank Jack K

Ate here on a Thursday night and had an excellent meal. Scottish Lobster was outstanding. scallops were very fresh and served in the shell but had a spice I did not really like. My son ordered the filet steak and really enjoyed it. Desserts were very good as well. Pricing is reasonable for the quality but it is on the more expensive side for a non hotel venue. I would definitely return.

We had a wonderful dinner at Fishers in the City during our last stay in Edinburgh. The service was friendly and attentive and the meal was well paced, including wine, starters entrée and dessert/coffee. I had a wonderful Scottish Lobster & avocado salad, while my others at the table had the Sumac & Szechuan pepper calamari and the scallop starter. We all had a variety of entrees including lobster, surf and turf as well as langoustines. Each meal was prepared well and delicious. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner and the staff ensured that we had what we needed, just the right amount of friendly and attentive. Even though we were quite full we couldn’t miss a chance to enjoy several desserts including the coconut panna cotta with mango salsa, a selection of Farmhouse Ice cream flavors and cappuccinos. We enjoyed our visit from beginning to end and we will definitely be back the next time we’re in Edinburgh.

I really enjoyed Fishers. It's a nice looking restaurant with good service. The seafood is lovely and fresh and very well cooked. Would return. Reasonably priced.

We arrived without a booking, early on a week night, the 8th July no problems for a table at the rear of the restaurant. The two of us had seafood chowder starter which was quiet nice served with bread.
Our second course of mussels was also good however we had to ask for bread to have with them.
Our two wait staff were very disinterested, the pre dinner drinks were bought in bottles we had to ask for glasses and they didn't offer to pour for us. Our white wine bottle was left on the table with two glasses no ice bucket or offer to pour for us. Also my husbands side order of chips didn't arrive. The back door was left open with quiet a chilly draught coming in so I asked could it be closed. It was, only to be opened by staff a couple of minutes later. We like to be made welcome at a restaurant as a guest, even though we are paying more than a couple of hundred Australian Dollars for the privilege. The service should be in proportion to the amount of money being charged.
