“Absolutely First Class !!”

We stayed for 2 nights at Kew House when we came to Edinburgh to attend a gig at the Playhouse. Our stay was absolutely superb! The room we had was very comfortable, beautifully and tastefully decorated and IMMACULATELY clean. The hosts Alan and Ian are welcoming and friendly. We were initially greeted by Alan who showed us to our room and gave us lots of useful and helpful information about travel and restaurants. The city centre is about a 20 minute walk from Kew House or 5 minutes by bus which stop right outside. There were lots of nice touches such as flowers in the room, sherry and chocolates as a welcoming gift, mint chocolates left on the pillows after the room was serviced and lovely little muffins on the tea tray. Breakfast was fabulous. Freshly cooked to order, good quality produce, lots of choice and absolutely delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return!

We had two nights here in Edinburgh at Kew House. This place is class all the way. A short stroll, about 15 minutes into town, or turn left at the front gate and there is a watering hole ( pub) 2 mins down the road. Room was very large and the bed was more comfortable than my own!
Shower was a tad small but this was the only minor issue.
A nice plus was the small bar fridge I the room.
Ian and Alan were the perfect host.
Would no doubt recommend this fine establishment to any one.

Room Tip: May be request a room down stairs then you don't have to battle with the stairs?

We stayed in the Kew House two bedroomed B&B apartment across the road, and were very pleased. This new-style terraced house is very tastefully furnished, warm, modern and VERY clean. The apartment is serviced daily, so the bathroom is spotlessly clean and well equipped every day. A small selection of toiletries is supplied and renewed, and the towels are spotless and plentiful. The electric shower can be adjusted very easily for the right temperature, and has adequate pressure.
The kitchen is modern and comes with dish washer, washing machine, microwave, oven, toaster, kettle, etc. There is an endless supply of hot water, courtesy of a modern combi-boiler.
The beds (one single and one double) are very comfortable, and the bed linen is VERY clean. There is also plenty of cupboard space in each room.
All in all, Ian and Alan can certainly be proud of this property - this warm, clean & modern B&B apartment is somewhere we will definitely be coming back to in the future. Ian was also very helpful in pointing out the various bus routes to and from Kew Terrace, and provided discount vouchers for restaurants and tours, which was nice. Nothing was too much trouble.
(The only mini-grumble we might voice would be that the cold breakfast provided each day (advertised as "Continental" on the website) could be a little more substantial and varied. Ours consisted of three mini cereal boxes (one each), a carton of milk, three yoghurt pots, three small cup cakes, a loaf of bread with six jam & marmalade portions, four peices of fresh fruit (two bananas & two oranges) and a carton of orange juice: this selection sounds bountiful and was certainly adequate (if repetitive) and is a nice gesture, but it doesn't really constitute a five-star experience. Premier Inn only charge £5.95 for their continental offering, and it is MUCH more substantial and exciting.) My only suggestion to Ian and Alan would be either to make the apartment totally self-catering, or be much clearer on the web site that the cold breakfast provided is really only a basic meal. Having said that, Ian was very helpful by providing Flora for our toast - we don't like butter - and the bread was of very good quality, not just supermarket sliced and wrapped.
However, our small concerns re the breakfast would not prevent us coming back: we enjoyed our time in Edinburgh very much, and we were very pleased that the Kew House apartment was extremely comfortable, warm and clean - something that made our stay all the more gratifying. We will be back!

Room Tip: Both bedrooms in the Apartment are very pleasant. One is a double and the other has a single bed in...

We stayed at Kew House for 3 days. Our room was well decorated, comfortable, quiet and clean. Our gracious hosts Ian and Alan were very helpful & went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed. Refrigerator & daily bottled water was a nice bonus as was the nightly chocolates, sherry & muffins. The secure parking in the back of the B&B was also a plus. Our room was of ample size with a small table & chairs as well as a closet & bathroom. The B&B was also close to bus routes. Breakfasts were a delight with many choices including haggis for the "brave of heart." We would definitely recommend Kew House and plan to return as soon as we can.

We stayed here last spring. The establishment is vey well situated and easy to find. Ian and Alan are the most obliging hosts that one could find. They were happy to assist with every query asked. The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully appointed and nothing more could be required. The breakfasts were outstanding with a very good choice. The cost per night is quite high, but this is Edinburgh after all. We recommend Kew House without reservation.

Probably the most charming place I've ever stayed in.
Warm and careful decor and a very welcoming atmosphere. Even though I only stayed for two nights and spent most time discovering the city, Ian and Alan were very attentive and helpful, always available to sensibly provide some added-value hints to my overall Edinburgh experience. For once, the information "dossier" available for guests in their own rooms provides really useful data, topped off with a touch of personal taste and reasonable advice.
Breakfast is great, and a nicely deserved reward after one goes over the hurdle of actually picking something from the mouthwatering menu...
I would definitely return.
