“Excellent location.”
Reviewed 26 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Excellent location at the opposite end of the Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle. It was therefore quieter - away from the noise of stag/hen parties. It's location on the Royal Mile meant you can walk to all the attractions - just bring your walking shoes. Before booking this apartment I had done a lot of research and I reckon this offers best value for money.
The apartment itself it very comfortable. Bed comfy as is the sofa bed which is easy to make up. Basic toiletries and snacks provided and gorgeous quality fluffy towels supplied! The owner David is flexible with check in.
There is a small balcony which enjoys the early morning sun if you are lucky enough to get it as we were this Easter.
If you 're there try the hog roast from across the road at Oink - delicious!

Thank you for this lovely review. We are pleased that you found Browns Close to be good value for money, and thanks too for the comments on the sofa bed - it's good to know that it is easy to use! - and the eating recommendation. We hope that you will choose to stay with us again if you are back in Edinburgh.

“A little Gem on the Royal Mile.”
Reviewed 11 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

This apartment is everything it says it is. Situated a short walk down the Royal Mile the apartment is well located for all tourist attractions. With plenty leaflets and books for info on Edinburgh ranging from tourist information to history on the city you won't be stuck for things to do.
The apartment is spacious with plenty storage and exceptionally clean and well equipped with kitchen utensils and little extras like milk in the fridge for your arrival, coffee tea etc and a tray with small box of cereals and croissants.
Chocolates on the table on arrival was a lovely welcoming touch. There is plenty cd's, dvd's and games supplied. The walk in shower was easily controlled and powerful and after walking miles it was great to have a comfy sleep in the main bed.

The owners have truly thought of everything to make the guests welcome and feel comfortable. We felt like it was our wee home for the weekend and would choose this in the future before staying in a hotel.

“Cute, clean and central - with little extras”
Reviewed 4 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Myself and my two friends stayed at Brown Close Apts for a weekend this March.

It is a lovely and homely apt that is conveniently sized for a group of 2-4. The kitchen and bathroom are clean and well equipped. For visitors with more than 2 people, the couch bed is comfy and when set up still leaves space in the dining area and kitchen to move around easily. We really appreciated the little snacks, soap, shower gel left for us by David (those little things really make the difference). A great stay!

If you're looking for a nice brunch/lunch place nearby, I'd also recommend The Larger (5 minutes walk up the royal mile and turn left onto blackfriars street). Delicious!

Thank you for taking the time to write this review for us. It is nice to know that you found the sofa bed comfortable, and it is a good point that there is still plenty of room in the lounge when the bed is made up. Thanks also for the dining recommendation - we do suggest places when guests ask, but it is better to have a guest's recommendation! We hope to see you again.

“The warmest welcome and everything we needed for a perfect stay in a beautiful city.”
Reviewed 7 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

My partner and our 2 children stayed in this lovely apartment for 4 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Perfect location for exploring the heart of the city, great travel links mere walking distance away, and easy access to some lovely walks around Arthurs Seat.
The welcome we got from the owners was warm and friendly, and they went the extra mile to make sure our stay was perfect. The apartment is really well equipt with a kitchen full of everything you might need to prepare meals, a good dishwasher and washing machine, which we found invaluable. Warm and cosy and with book-shelves filled with fiction and city guides, we felt it was perfect for our needs. There is no lift, so be prepared for 2 (small) flights of steps to get to the front door, especially if you have a buggy, though we managed just fine.
Our overall feeling of the place was that it really felt like a home from home, and the thoughtful touches really made our stay so comfortable that we have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone planning a visit to a beautiful city.

Apartment well situated for all major sightseeing attractions. No.35 bus from airport drops you within a few feet of the front door and easy walk from/to Waverley main train station. Apartment very clean, well equipped with lots of little extras included (tea, coffee, sugar, cereal, croissants, jam, biscuits, toiletries, hairdryer) and very warm and cozy. Quiet location ensured a good nights sleep and both bed and sofa very comfortable. Really enjoyed our long weekend in Edinburgh, which is lovely city, and Browns Close apartment was the ideal choice – were were not disappointed.
