“Great Hotel.”
Reviewed 5 September 2012

I was abit worried about booking a Premier Inn as usually I book 4 star hotels with a gym and room service.
I could not be more impressed with this hotel. On arrival we booked in within minutes. Room was clean and tidy with everything you need. There is a shopping mall on entering the area with a Morrisons in case you forget or need anything.
Staff are extremely friendly and are happy to assist with any thing you need. Asked for an iron and it came up within afew minutes.
Never had to wait for a lift always came straight away.
Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Staff again happy to help with any thing you need.
Although no room service, you can order at the bar and take the food up to your room. There are also vending machines with drinks and chocolate etc.
Although slightly outside of Edinburgh it is perfectly positioned with ample parking and the train station directly outside the hotel with trains going every 10-15mins which take appox 10mins to get to the centre of Edinburgh and costs £2.90 for a return ticket. Our room over looked the railway line and although we could hear the train now and again it wasn't loud enough to be a bother.
I found the beds comfy however my partner found them alittle hard.
Will definately be staying in a Premier Inn again. Excellent value for money.

Room Tip: If you think the small train noise will bother you ask to stay the other side of the hotel.

Pretty much what you expect from a premier inn. They never let you down, and the breakfast really sets you up for the day. Evening meal menu could be better but it the same in all premier inns. The city was fantastic. We went to the castle and spent ages there, it really is a must see. We also went into the vaults, they were really interesting and a little spooky. Would recommend Mercat tours for this. Oh, and shopping is great. Plenty of shops for the ladies and plenty of pubs to dump the other half in while you shop!

We had a very nice welcome to the hotel and was shown how to use the automated check in machines by the receptionist. The room was very spacious and quiet. The windows do not open but there is aircon to keep the rooms cool.
There is ample parking and it is very close to the Edinburgh Park train station. Trains come every 10 mins or so and is only 2 stops to Waverley. Return costs £2.90 so is cheaper than the bus.
Breakfast was a great choice as with all Premier Inns.
The only grumble we had was in the restaurant at dinner. I had ordered a meal deal for £12.50 for 2 courses but when the bill came they had taken my husbands main course (cheaper than mine and not taken on meal deal) and my starter as part the meal deal which actually worked out that i didnt save as much. This was raised with the waiting staff who firstly said that it was the till that calculated the costs but after some perseverance they amended the bill to the correct amount. If a couple both has the meal deal then it shouldnt be an issue.
Beside this we would definitely use The Gyle Premier Inn again.
The hotel has only been open for about 6 months so is very clean and tidy.

This is a great budget hotel, with modern fittings etc. Comfortable rooms and layout with pplenty of carparking spaces. The only downside is that you're on the outskirts of town... although you are very close to the Gyle shopping mall.

We spent one night at the Premier Inn - Edinburgh Park and had a fantastic stay! Opened in February 2012, the entire property was still fresh and new. The rooms and bathrooms were bright, spacious and comfortable. The bountiful breakfast buffet included plenty of choices and was a very nice way to begin the day.

In addition, the hotel also had a Costa Coffee Shop in the lobby, which was a great feature for business people and tourists, alike. Each and every member of the hotel staff was extremely friendly and very attentive to our every need. 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi access was also included in the price of the room.

Finally, the location was great. The Edinburgh Park train station was just across the street, which provided easy access to downtown Edinburgh. In fact, the train trip to the city center was just 2 stops away and the to/from ticket price was less than 3₤. By car, the Edinburgh Airport was literally 10 minutes away. Without a doubt, the Premier Inn – Edinburgh Park truly offers it all: great hotel, great service and great location—all at a reasonable price. If you’re traveling to Edinburgh, stay here!

We have stayed for 2 nights during our holiday to Edinburgh. The hotel is just next to the station. It is very quite and the rooms were fantastic. The breakfast in the hotel was very good. Premier inn provided 30 minutes free wi-fi which wass very useful. The rooms are quite big and maintained very well.

We stayed for a short break in August. The hotel is on outskirts of Edinburgh but has a train station right next to it so can catch the train straight into Edinburgh (traffic very busy in city so definitely worth using the train). The hotel is quite new and and so lovely and modern. It has its own restaurant which serves lovely food and the breakfast is great. It also has the added bonus of a Costa on the premises. The rooms are what
you expect from premier inn, clean and comfortable. When we return to Edinburgh which we will, we would definitely use this hotel again. Thanks for a great stay.
