The Gyle is a lovely clean hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Someone rang and offered to give us directions to the hotel as it was our first time to stay there and we were travelling from Ireland. Food delicious, restaturant staff couldnt have been nicer to our 2 little girls. The train station into Edinburgh only a minute away, no noise from trains. but could do with some tourist info. Shopping centre only a few minutes away. Would have no problem staying here again.

We often stay at the premier inns and up till now have never had a bad experience ... The Gyle is typical of the consistently good service we have had ... staff welcoming, helpful and assists in a manner that you can only appreciate in a big way ... Since opening earlier this gear we have already been here several times (one of our sons lives here with his own family) and will continue to do so. Please please please [premier inns] don't change your pricing policies and try to become out of reach ... you do a fantastic product, at a price that 'hoovers' us in to a level of excellence with a facility that is attractive and sustainable ... special mentions to the sites in Folkestone (euro tunnel), Huddersfield west, Blackpool east, Perth and Edingburgh park the Gyle. Can't wait for you to spread into Europe - particularly all the main corridors to holiday destinations ...(we now always travel overseas by own car and are astonished by the huge differences between the 'affordable' hotels...). We stayed for weekend nice and new clean usual decor as in other Premier Inns.
The directions were given on line for coming off the M8 but we did not come from that road and had a very difficult 20 minutes trying to find the road into it, we could see the hotel but getting to it was very very difficult due to lack of signage, BETTER DIRECTIONS NEEDED ON WEBSITE FOR PEOPLE NOT USING M8.
Also a minus was no litter bins at all in the hotel car park ------ WHY NONE WE ALL NEED BINS ?
Staff very pleasant, we are booked again in November so hopefully something will be done by then.

All the staff we met this weekend were polite and helpful. Due to the local road works we got lost and had to phone for directions which were efficently provided. We didn't hear any noise from the trains but did hear music from the room above us on all 3 nights.

The room was spacious but a blood mark ( or worse!) on the wall that I found on arrival and reported to reception was never cleaned.

We arrived at the restaurant at 7.15 and was told to return at 8.00 pm ( I note other people have mentioned this - do they have a problem in the kitchen that needs addressing??) However I explained why this wasn't possible due to medical reasons and they seated us immediately and served the food promptly.

Very close to train station - which was great. No train timetables and very little tourist brochures but staff happy to Google information

Would happily stay again - much better than most Premier Inns.

We selected the Premier Inn because it was cheaper, easier to park than other hotels that are closer to Edinburgh city centre and with good rail links into the city, and because other members of our party had already booked there. We have stayed at other budget hotels many times, with mixed results, but this was our first time with Premier Inn and it was exceptional.

We had pre-paid on-line and the touch-screen check-in was very quick and easy to use. Our room was fresh, clean and comfortable, but it was the staff that made the biggest impression. They were exceptionally helpful, happy yet professional from the moment we walked in until the moment we left - in reception, the bar and restaurant. They were helpful and accommodating when 15 of us gathered for an impromptu family re-union in the bar and restaurant. They dealt cheerfully with a 'crisis' of one of our party, aged 5, lost her shoe behind the vending machines in the foyer - thanks to Kerry and Angel for going 'beyond the call of duty' and finding ingenious ways to retrieve the precious item!

My only gripe was that the hotel was difficult to get to from the south (A702) because our sat-nav did not recognise the postcode and took us to the 'wrong side of the railway tracks' when we entered the road name. Directions to the hotel on the booking confirmation email could have been clearer. This might have seriously affected our impression of the hotel - but it didn't because everything else was so good.

The room was everything you need for a short stay. Clean tidy and plenty of room. The coffee and tea where fine but there was nothing to stir your drink with - take your own spoon. I had the full breakfast and the only problem was that the food cooled very quickly once on the plate.
For a budget hotel though I thought it was good.
Staff very friendly and welcoming, I did not need their help with anything but got the impression that they would be happy to assist with anything I needed

This was my first stay at a Premier Inn. Very impressed with the facility. Check in was fast and easy. Staff was very quick to respond to any requests we made regarding extra towels, etc. Location was excellent, proximity to Retail Park, and train station made it easy to leave our car parked and take the train into Edinburgh for sightseeing. We were traveling on to Glasgow/Paisley Premier Inn, it was great to be able to buy a seven day WiFi package that would be valid at the next hotel. Only issue was difficulty with our Sat-Nav finding the location, maybe because it's so new?
