“Premier Inn Edinburgh Park - The Gyle”

Excellent the best Premier Inn we have stayed in by far. Very quiet, lots of car parking spaces and by the train station rather than driving to park and ride. Buses also stop close by. Free WiFi for 30 mins a day and you can buy more. Also got two of the nights at £29. Perfect base for exploring Edinburgh and the surrounds. Would stay again.

My partner and I sayed here for 2 nights at the end of August for the Fringe Festival. The hotel is clean, quiet and the staff are friendly. The rooms are clean, there is enough space and the beds are comfortable. The halls, lifts, lobby etc are all also very clean. The breakfast was nice but a bit over priced. The hotel is right next to the train station which goes right into the city centre so its ideal. We got a good deal on this hotel and will be back next year if we can get a similar price.

This branch of the Premier Inn is a large new build right next to the Edinburgh Park railway station, so very handy for getting into the city centre (a return ticket is less than £3). It's also good for anyone working at the cluster of bank buildings around the The Gyle.

The rooms are spacious, clean and modern and have adjustable air con/heating installed. The rooms have the standard Premier Inn furniture; comfy bed, desk, wardrobe/drawers/shelves combo. You also have a tea/coffee tray, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries in the large, clean bathroom. There's also loads of free parking.

Curiously, you check in via a touchscreen machine in reception, the idea being it's self-service. A great idea except a member of staff hovered over me the whole time reading off the screen to me and telling me what to press. I may have been a tired and weary traveller, however I hadn't lost the powers of literacy and hand/eye co-ordination! I think they need to trust that people can manage just fine on their own using this facility and will ask for help if required.

There is a Thyme restaurant and Costa coffee on site. The restaurant has a reasonable selection of food and offers a quick and friendly service. No grumbles there!

I did notice the walls and ceilings are quite thin. The person in the room above me seemed to be either moving furniture or conducting a high impact aerobics session every evening and morning. My light fittings even rattled!!

In the local area there is a Tescos, Morrisons, a small shopping centre and Frankie & Bennys.

All in all, this is a nice place to stay.

The location was superb, directly opposite the train station. Regular trains run to Haymarket and Waverley stations from here, so you can be in Edinburgh in 10 minutes. The staff at "The Gyle" are a credit to this hotel; they are friendly, efficient and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and no train noise could be heard, despite the proximity to the station. Dinner and Breakfast are excellent value for money and there is also a Costa Coffee on site. Free parking too.

Room Tip: Quite a few guests were using this hotel for business. If you are a light sleeper, you may get dist...

Just back from a 2 night stay. The hotel was immaculate and the staff were so friendly. One of the most comfortable beds I've slept in! The hotel was busy but we heard absolutely no noise from other guests during the night. Ate dinner and breakfast on both days in the restaurant. Food and service excellent. Hotel is located right next to Edinburgh Park station so getting into Edinburgh was so easy. Plenty car parking available at the hotel, and it's free. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

5 of us stayed 1 night prior to Edinburgh University Open Day.
Arrived 10.30pm on Friday. Very helpful receptionist who greeted us, checked us in and then explained breakfast arrangements.
Rooms very clean, warm and comfortable.
Great night's sleep. Opened the curtains to see Edinburgh Castle on horizon, a lovely sight.
Breakfast was as much as you can eat for the set price, good quality as well. Slight problem paying as card machine was playing up but was sorted out quickly and professionally by the Manager.
Overall, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again next time in Edinburgh and would also recommend.
Minor point to watch out for; the road to the estate is a private road with barriers. You may need to push the button to gain entry. This isn't obvious as there's no sign. We thought we'd got the wrong road. We were told that the hotel wasn't allowed to put a sign there as the owners of the road / estate wouldn't allow it.

Room Tip: Ask for east facing so you see the Castle in the distance in the morning.

We stayed here for four nights as a stop over on a tour of the UK. The hotel was immaculate when we visited with well looked after lawns out front and very clean and tidy lobby. The rooms were clean and in perfect order as expected from a hotel that was only six months old.

Parking was plentiful and free and is ideal for access to the city using the adjacent railway station (around £4.50 return during the week per person). The hotel is basically on a business park so is pretty dead at night and there are not many other restaurants locally. The Gyle shopping centre is nearby with a Morrisons and a few chain restaurants otherwise a trip into the city is required.

One tip, ask for a room away from the railway line for a quiet night (although it isnt too bad). If you are staying at the weekend you can park for free at the car park at the foot of Arthur's Seat by Holyrood Palace.

Room Tip: Don't follow TOMTOM as it takes you to the wrong place, Use Edinburgh Park Railway station as yo...
