“Great budget hotel experience”
Reviewed 20 August 2013

Good experience with first stay at a Premier Inn. Found the hotel no problem as they had texted / emailed the directions the day before arrival. Ideal location on west side of Edinburgh, very handy for airport, Heriot Watt Uni, etc.
Straight forward self-check in on arrival with receptionist on hand to assist. Rooms new, very clean, although overlooking the train line there was little or no noise from that direction. Dinner and breakfast at hotel. Nice staff waiting on tables etc. Borrowed newspapers from Costa on site, as there were none in breakfast area for customers to read.
Would definitely book again if needing Edinburgh hotel.

Experienced self check in for the first time. A receptionist offered help with the screens.

A clean good as new hotel property. Genuinely pleasant cosmopolitan staff from continental Europe. Spain etc.

Booked as a family (2A + 2C). Was allotted an excellent room with one double and 2 single beds. Requested a room farthest from the station side and got it.

Edinburgh Park station "at the door step". A 10 minute ride into Edinburgh Waverley and then a 10 minute walk to the Royal Mile to enjoy the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Booked the room with the breakfast buffett. Filling.

5 stars.

Room Tip: Away from the station side. Although the passing trains are not loud enough to disturb anyone other...

Having stayed at various other locations previously and got very tired at the amount of walking to get in and out of Edinburgh and have car parking, I chose this hotel this time. First point: my sat nav took me to the airport - miles away from the hotel location (search for and follow signs for Edinburgh Park railway station and you'll be fine though!). The car park itself is very big - you'll have no problem parking up in what seems a safe district (otherwise populated with corporate business centres). Check in straightforward, nice clean hotel reception, vending machines good (didn't use the restaurant so can't comment). Nice sized clean rooms - if anything too hot (but variable air conditioning in rooms). Good hot water and bathroom. Location for train station is excellent! Just 50 metres away! Then it's a 15 minute journey to the centre of Edinburgh for £3 return! Superb for our visits in and out of the fringe festival. Used the car once to get to the zoo - very close by and a short 15 minute drive. Legs far less tired this year - would use again and recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights and used it as a base for a couple of days in Edinburgh.

The location is ideal as Edinburgh Park has now been developed as head offices for such organisations as RBS, as such the train services are frequent.

I Googled the distance from the train station (Edinburgh Park) to the hotel and the official figure is 34 meters. It is so handy for central for Edinburgh with the train taking about 10 minutes into Waverley. The hotel has a large, free car park so just park up and enjoy your day out in Edinburgh without any parking issues!

The hotel is very new so very clean, as you would expect.

The staff are great, Kerry in particular was very helpful and made us feel very welcome.

We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant and cannot fault the selection available or the quality of the food, really nice.

As ever with Premier Inn, they are very comfortable, great value and a pleasure to stay at.

The hotel is very new and neat.It is very well located close to a train station with very often conections to the city centre. You can forget about your car for visiting Edinburgh.
It also has a nice restaurant with no aspirations to earn a Michelin star but ofering the possibility to eat late dinner if you are not interested in doing so downtown.
Service in the restaurant is somehow amateurish but overall I would rate it as good. Breakfast is very good.
The hotel is hard to find as you can not introduce the exact location in your GPS, it took a little old style navigation and a couple of phone calls to find the location.

Outstanding service by all staff we encountered. The room was quiet, comfortable and met our needs. Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. Easy access to train station and trip into Edinburgh centre took 15mins and cost £3 return.
