Less than 15 minute walk to Haymarket restaurants and pubs while less than one block from two city bus stops. Simple, complimentary breakfast was sufficient to start my day. The room furniture, fixtures and linens were a dated style but clean and in good condition thus adequate. Lighting in the room and hallways was sparse. A person with mobility difficulties, i.e. navigating steps, might have a hard time here though. The helpful staff extended our stay one day at short notice with no trouble. The hotel location would be a shortcoming for a tourist headed to the city center, but it's proximity to the city bus stops make it the next best thing. I would return.

Room Tip: The ground floor room we stayed in was situated at the back of the property on the private high wall...

Booked the hotel for a concert on 3rd June. Very close to the venue. We were parked in restrictive parking zone and the staff had no problem putting a ticket on to cover the time we were out. Our room was basic, but very clean and the bed was soo comfortable! Just wish I had more time in it! Breakfast was toast, cereal and coffee, no complaints there. If you wanting a base to go out and about without all the frills, I would definitely stay again.

I booked this hotel a year in advance as we were going to a concert at Murrayfield. The hotel is only a 10min walk from Haymarket train station, and if you keep going, Murrayfield is only a further 10min walk, which is great!
The hotel itself looks impressive from the outside however I was slightly dissapointed with the room.
The room was very tired looking with a few large cracks on the wall! There was no telephone or hairdryer.
Our room was at the front of the hotel and had there been double glazing then this would have been ok, but the large potion doors looked like the old original ones and definitely did not block out any noise at all! The bed was ok for comfort and the bathroom was clean enough.
The colour scheme of the hotel was nice but dark and made everything seem enclosed.
Breakfast was simple, toast, fruit, cereal or croissants. Tea, coffee and juice was also available.
The staff were welcoming and friendly.

Stayed for one night with my toddler. Staff were lovely, room clean, relatively large and very quiet. Would stay again.

No longer linked to the Indian takeaway but staff recommended another who deliver. Website contact details out of date & didn't receive reply from email address but online booking went through & all was fine.

Very good value for money. Breakfast basic but satisfactory.

Stayed for two nights from 09/05/2014. I was a little concerned following the reviews. Yes it is looking dated but for a cheap stay it was ok. The staff were helpful and polite. The continental breakfast was ok , I have had worse at more expensive places. Room was clean , so was the bathroom , bed linen and towels clean. It is in a quiet location and you can park your car about 30 yards away round the corner.

The hotel is quite sweet, it is in a nice building and the outside is particularly nice. The room we ordered was a twin. however it was actually a double bed and a pull out bed next to the window which was only suitable for a child. Apart from that it was decent enough. The breakfast I was extremely disappointed with. It was actually the worst breakfast I have ever had at a hotel, the put out a toaster, pile of bread and cereal. This was it, for a continental it was pretty poor. The cheese they had was the cheap burger cheese in the plastic that they put on a plate. All in all wouldn't rush back, was particularly cheap, should have cost less in my opinion
