We changed to this Hotel after spending an awful night in a single bed (that was advertised as a double on the website) at an apartment block nearby. We were so grateful to come to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of this Travelodge. The room was clean and bright, airy and tidy. Great central location, only 5 minutes walk from Waverly station. Friendly and helpful staff. Great price for Edinburgh!

Room Tip: The rooms don't have the best view in most cases, because it is tucked away. But when you are in...

This was exactly what I expect in a budget hotel, comfortable with no frills. I recommend it. The bed was comfortable and room size adequate. Staff was friendly and helpful. It is a bit of a walk to tourist areas, so you might want to consider taxi costs if you stay here.

A lovely old building a couple of block back from Prince's Street, it couldn't look less like a Travelodge from the outside but inside, it hsa everything that you would expect and extra comfortable beds at a very reasnoable price.

Room Tip: Try to get one on the street side because the view is better there.

Travelodge it's a budget hotel. It's basic, doesn't have an air condition or hair dryer in the rooms. But have a comfortable beds, clean rooms and great location. How I said its a budget hotel so I cant understand why some people score this place so low. Surely you can't expect 5 star hotel treatment if you paying £70 £80 per room.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room before arriving.

A bit of a trek if you're arriving by train and a pain to find parking if you travel by car. Roadside parking is expensive with few daytime spaces but overnight 18:30 to 08:30 is free. Multi-storey overnight parking is available a ten minute brisk walk away but isn't cheap. The family room we booked was spacious and all four beds were made on arrival, something that hadn't been done in the Royal Scot in London a few days earlier. Can't fault housekeeping but could have done with a couple more sockets to charge iPads and phones. Recommend taking a multi adaptor! Edinburgh is small and compact and everything within walking distance. Round the corner on Hanover Street are cafes open for good breakfasts or simply coffee - better value than the box on offer at Travelodge. Plenty of choice for eating close by. No hair drier in room but available from reception. No phone either but not a problem since we had mobiles. Advance booking recommended to get the best deals from Travelodge but Queen Street is pleasantly quiet and very convenient to see the sights if you don't mind walking. Would definitely stay there again.

Basic standard, as you would expect, travelodge. Wasn't expecting much but the room was quite noisy due there being an alleyway at the rear where the pubs dipose of used bottles into bottle bins and disappointly noise from other rooms. In addition to this the wifi, which is chargable, didn't work. The reception is also not always staffed. All in all poor.

Cheap option if you aren't bothered by noise.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms facing onto the alley at the rear.
