“Excellent short break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2012

Super friendly and helpful staff / Graham from hotel maintainance was a fountain of knowledge on classic single malt Scotch whisky, it was a pleasure to talk to him ! The dining and lounge area overlooked Princes Street with a magnificent view of the castle. The price of the special evening menu included the "Big Breakfast" for the following morning. The hotel provided a generous discount once they had validated the exit barrier token for a local car park. Our room and the hotel was sqeaky clean throughout. We enjoyed our stay but as I mentioned earlier the staff were the stars and a credit to Premier Inn.

Room Tip: If you are not completely satisfied with the room allocated to you ask for a change.

We stayed with my family 4 nights in August 2012. The room was extremely clean and the view of Edinburgh Castle was magnificent. All in all a great stay and definetely value for money. When I will visit Edinburgh again, I will definetely stay at the same hotel.

We stayed there after a visit to the Olympics in London so didn't realise that the Fringe Festival was on in the city, which made it very busy. However we loved Edinburgh and the National Scottish Museum is not to be missed with its original motor racing cars and motor race car simulator! The Premier Inn was well located in the shopping area of Princes Street, directly opposite Edinburgh Castle, and away from the madness of the Royal Mile at Fringe time. The two-day hop-on, hop-off tour is recommended as it includes entry to the Castle, Holyroodhouse and the Britannia, which was brilliant.

The hotel is new, clean and bright with very friendly, helpful staff and the breakfast was very good - we prepaid for the hot meal option but as the cold option was so good we didn't really use it - kids eat free and they loved it. The family room with a double and 2 singles was very tight on space but was clean and bright. The windows don't open and so A/C must be used. There was no shaver point in the bathroom but adaptors seemed to be available at reception. There was 30mins free WiFi which was useful for checking Olympic results but in this day and age there really should be free 24-hour WiFi.

We had a great time in Edinburgh and I would stay in this Premier Inn again

Room Tip: I believe that there are some rooms which are slightly (1 foot?) wider than others and this should b...

I was a little unsure of what to expect from a budget hotel but booked this for a last minute stay with my boyfriend; we were not disappointed!

The staff were amazing and really helpful throughout our stay! We opted to use the discounted parking across the park which worked out well but we didn't end up needing the car much.

Our room was nice, clean and well appointed. I appreciated the choice of pillows and the breakfast selection was great - kept us so full we skipped lunch everyday. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip.

First impression may not be one of 'wow' but it's not all about the cover! Extremely friendly and helpful staff who make you feel that nothing is too much. Room was spotlessly clean with plenty of space. The bed and pillows extremely comfortable. Good location, was there for the Fringe, didn't take long to walk anywhere. Lots going on around and about the hotel. Breakfast was very good both continental and full. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
