“Good Stay - Great location”
Reviewed 6 January 2014

Great location!! Right on Princes Street.

Family room was good size and very clean. Breakfast was also great.

I would highly recommend especially with such reasonable costs.

Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Visited Edinburgh for 3 days with our two little girls aged 2 & 4. Parked in Castle terrace car park and walked to the hotel. The girls did struggle with the walk as we decided to leave the pushchair at home. Will certainly bring it next time. Check in was quick and easy and the staff were very friendly. The room was flawless, clean and tidy and spacious even with 3 beds in the room. After settling in we went out to explore the amazing city. With the Xmas celebrations on to the 5th of Jan there was plenty to see and do. We spent a lot of time at the hotel due to getting wet and the little ones moaning there legs were aching. Lol. Our room was at the back of the hotel as all the front rooms with views were already allocated. This is definitely one of the nicest premier inns we've stayed at. Will certainly be back for more next year.

Lovely hotel very friendly staff, and room was very comfortable!!! Had the breakfast one morning which we had to pay for but it was lovely!! Head down early if you want breakfast to avoid the queue! They even extended the breakfast time until 1pm on New Year's Day which was a nice touch!! So over all a very pleasant stay!!!

Stayed 27- 30 Dec 13 here with my husband, daughter and my parents. Our rooms we digital control system for the heating, when we arrived Fri eve the room so cold and i couldnt get the control on the wall to up the temperature which was only at 17. I rang down & asked the reception if they could help, which i was told that they had a central control panel & they would up the temp in the room to about 24 which i had asked for. On saturday woke with no heat at all and room cold to get ready in the morning, rang reception was told heat had now gone off and would be back on later in the day. Arrived back Sat eve after being out in the daytime, room still cold rang reception was told would alter the heating on the central control panel, 2 hours later still no heat, rang back down, apologies they had forgotten to do it. thiis went on for the sunday until sunday evening 7pm when the duty manager said we could change rooms, i told her its to late, as we were on our way out and leaving tomorrow, the thought of packing & unpacking! We were offered a free breakfast, but we have already pre paid for breakfast!!
The hotel was clean, but never seemed to be enough staff working, staff working reception were also working the bar inbetween check in times and at this time of the year its was very busy, so your waiting for drinks, on the Fri eve we ate in the restaurant and there was only one chef on, food took forever to arrive, ands there was only 10 people, which included us 5.

Room Tip: Ask for a castle view room, if your at the back of the building you face a brick wall, with no view...

Stayed here the weekend before Christmas.Hotel is a short walk away from Waverley Station (approx5/10min).
We were welcomed by present and friendly reception staff who helped and assisted us perfectly.
Room was spacious and clean. I suggest you ask for a castle view as we faced a building at the back of the hotel which wasn't scenic. However we weren't in the hotel room long enough to bother about views.
Hotel room has hair dryer, coffee/tea making facilities, tv.
I will be returning to this hotel next time I'm in Edinburgh.

We stayed in this hotel as did several other family members and friends, for two nights, to attend our son's wedding. It was a wonderful experience - the staff were friendly and efficient, receptionists, waiters/waitresses when 15 of us dined on Friday evening, and for two breakfasts. They couldn't have been more helpful with our wedding preparations, providing an iron and ironing board promptly, booking taxis for us all and wishing the bridegroom and the family, 'Good Luck'. There were several children in the group and they were treated exceptionally well, as welcome as the grown ups! I have never had a problem at any Premier Inn and this one is no different except that perhaps it is a touch better than some might be. Thank you all so much for making a special weekend even easier.

Room Tip: We had rooms to suit our needs - double, twin and family rooms. Extra beds in the family room were b...
