“Big rugby night £169 for night but you've been moved”
Reviewed 12 March 2014 via mobile

No central hotels available on Scotland v France except this one at £169 for night. When we arrived were advised that hotel flooded and moved to Cameron toll out of centre with free taxis and breakfast thrown in. Usual weekend rate for Cameron toll is £60 approx therefore question whether this is a scam to secure central bookings to fill rooms out of town. Taxi fare is approx £7.

Great location, lovely room overlooking Princes Street and very helpful staff. Easy to leave bags in reception at start and end of stay to make the most of our time in Edinburgh. Yes the entrance is down a alleyway, but given the excellent location and low cost I thought this was an excellent hotel. Not sure what the rooms at the back would be like as we had a nice room at the front.

Booked here for one night in November 2013 and couldn't have asked for more. Before arriving I had googled the hotel and knew roughly where to head for the Entrance. Although the entrance is down a little lane, its not all that bad. The lane is well lit at night and there is more than a fair share of people who use it (including vehicles) - no need to feel threatened or intimidated.

The entrance to the hotel is locked from 10pm and you need to use your room key to swipe in and out the main entrance from that time onwards - puts your mind at ease and gives that little bit of extra security!

Reception staff were very friendly and full of information. The room we stayed in was very spacious (much bigger than anticipated).

Would highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking to stay in a central location in the heart of Edinburgh (literally a 5 minute walk, if that, from Waverley Station)

The hotel is in a lane that runs behind Top Shop in Princes St. It is rather dark and dreary and almost hides the hotel entrance but don't be put off. It is a great location, you are in the heart of the city as soon as you step outside.I am not a fan of the breakfast boxes but Costa is just accords the road as are other breakfast options. The website warns there could be some noise expected given the location .We were there during the 6 nations and hotel was full of French rugby fans and had no issues with either internal or external noise. It is a great hotel for an overnight or couple if nights stay.

Brilliant hotel in a good location. Just behind Princes street (a bit hard to find at first) it's in a sort of alleyway right behind the H&M and topshop on Princes street. It's only a few minutes walk from both Edinburgh Bus Station and Edinburgh Waverely Train Station and is less than a 10 minute walk to The Edinburgh Playhouse and OMNI centre.

Great staff, Anne on check-in was so lovely and friendly and we were able to check in at 1pm for only £10 which was good as I wasn't feeling great! Anne even offered to give me the number for NHS 24 and told me to ask if I needed any help, what a star!

Great price, only £30 for 3 of us in 1 room! We had a lovely, clean room facing onto Princes street and with the window shut we couldn't hear any noise at all!

I would definetly recommend this hotel if looking for something in Edinburgh!

Booked a room for my friend and his wife. They were very happy with the stay. The staff were very good and the room was very clean. I paid only £100 for 3 nights and was bit worried as the price was very cheap, but my friend had a wonderful stay.

This hotel is almost perfectly located for a stay in Edinburgh. A little off princess street and 3 mins walk from the train station and the bus stops for the airport shuttle bus. The room was great. Clean tidy warm. However, between around 11pm and 1am there were refuse collections taken which included extremely noisy glass collections which meant that the quality of the sleep I got was poor. In addition there was work going on in the building opposite which was noisy and the lights were on all night meaning the room was never really dark. At no point was I advised that this could be an issue by the staff and would not have been an issue at all if I had of been on the other side of the hotel.

Otherwise no further grumbles. Room was fine and staff were friendly and helpful

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel should be quieter and away from the entrance side to avoid noise and...
