Lovely welcome by reception (Alan); we were late arriving but he made sure we had everything we needed, and took the time to help us with directions to the Uni for the next morning. The website gave excellent walking directions from the station, and the hotel itself was clean, warm and comfy. Would definitely stay again.

Stopped here for a weekend in Edinburgh - booked easily on the Travelodge website as usual. The hotel is only a short walk away from Waverley Station and is situated in a former department store looking out onto Princes Street.

Access is via Meuse Lane which is somewhat dingy back lane populated with rubbish bins etc, however we received a very warm welcome from Anne the receptionist who regaled my daughter with lots of information about the nearby writing of the Harry Potter books by J K Rowling. Best reception ever in a Travelodge I would say!

The interior of the hotel appears to have been refurbished fairly recently and our second floor room looked out over Princes Street with an amazing view of the city. Everything was new and the beds were really comfortable.

The hotel is within strolling distance of the sights, restaurants and pubs and (as other reviewers have said) the fact that you can leave your luggage on check-out day in exchange for a small donation to charity makes your short break so much easier.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing onto Princes Street.

We have actually booked a room to the Queen St hotel but they had a problem and called a cab to change us.
The location was perfect... So close to the train station, walking distance to the castle and all the stores and restaurants you could need.
The only down part was the heating. It was not enough since the room as huge... And no windows... Weird room actually...

As we arrived in Edinburgh it was bucketing down with rain so we ran to the tourist information to find out exactly how to get to the hotel, across the road behind top shop. easy as pie. I wasn't sure if we should bother going at 10.30am to find out if the room was ready in order for us to leave luggage, but we did. They offered an early check-in of an extra £10 or a service were you could leave your luggage with a tag behind reception for free. perfect.
It is situated behind shops in a back alley which is a bit mercy but to be honest its a brilliant location and I could not fault anything at all. the rooms are clean, warm and the lights are turned on low and heater on ready for you arriving. extremely welcoming. 100% recommend

At only £21 per night for a corner room number 318 with fantastic views of the city. 2 minutes walk from Waverly station and right in the heart of the city so a fantastic location for the city. Friendly staff, for a small donation to Macmillan cancer research we were able to leave our suitcase at reception, such a fantastic gesture. Massive clean room with a big comfy bed, it was a bit of a maze to find at first! For a budget room in a great location I can't recommend it enough!

Don't let the side street put you off. The room we were in (307) was very comfortable, clean and very quiet. Very central too. We stayed for a weekend of father/son bonding having used an East Coast Mainline special offer. First time to Edinburgh.

We stayed here Sunday 23rd March 14 for one night. We left our bags as the hotel was full the night before. On return later that day we were checked in by Anne. Great service, warm welcome explained everything and told us the best places to go. We got to our room, 411. It was fab, we had a family room windows were floor to ceiling and we were looking out on Princes Street and could hear the bagpipes etc. The room was spacious and tidy. Overall fab place. Anne and a young girl were great ( the yound girl) who let us leave our bags handled a rude guy really well) well done and we will return !
