ive had bad experience with travelodge in the past so was pleasantly surprised with this one.
My only cocncern was it isnt actually on princess street its muse lane which is the service access for the shops in princess street.
All in all my room was clean, staff very helpful and i wouldnt hesitate to use this hotel again.

Room Tip: i was on the 6th floor and even though they have done there best to sound proof windows it can be a...

We stayed here with our 8 year old daughter for 2 nights. We were particularly impressed with the central location which is right opposite Waverley Station in the centre of the city. The hotel is described as Princes Street, but it's actually accessed from a back street parallel to Princes Street. It's a bit grotty & the entrance is very basic, but don't let that put you off. The staff were all exceptionally friendly, helpful & welcoming and the room was clean and we'll equipped with a great view up Princes Street. My only (minor) criticisms would be that there is very limited storage space for clothing, with no drawers & only a small amount of hanging space and the water pressure was low. Otherwise though it was great and, being a Travelodge, good value for money.

To begin with, we arrived an hour early before check in time but the staff were nice in letting us check into our room anyways. Our room was very large nothing what we expected at all, with a nice large window and ledge.

NEGATIVES:
This hotel needs to adjust there doors as a major priority! When neighboring doors shut it is so loud! It woke us up from our sleep multiple times at 1 2 3 4 5 in the morning after party goers called it a night, you name it, so annoying! The windows could also do with a touch of sound proofing.

The bed we were given was a nice large bed, however it was so hard and had no softness at all. Each to their own, but for us this was no good. In our young 20's we shouldn't wake up with back stiffness of a bed alone.

We stayed for two nights, however our room was not cleaned on the second day even though we did not have a 'do not disturb' sign on the door. We are generally clean people, but we had accumulated quite a lot of rubbish from the shops and had no where to put it (very small bin). A fresh supply of tea, coffee and fresh towels would have been nice.

POSITIVES:
The hotel is very close to the train station.
The bathroom is compact but very well equipped with a nice shower.
Short journey to the zoo and located literally 10 seconds away from princess street, the main shopping area.
Also near a sainsburys for all food and drink needs.

Room Tip: A room which does not accommodate loud door slamming party goers if your looking for a quiet night.

Good central hotel very close to the railway station was clean and has been refurbished just ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you don't want an early morning wake up from the piper on princes street as starts very early. Staff friendly and helpful.

Great location, rooms are clean, fresh, good views on the 7th floor, excellent value and friendly staff!
We stayed for one night, went to a gig, so didn't spend much time in the room, except to sleep, but it was clean and in a great location!

We stayed at this travelodge on 28/05/2014 for 1 night the room & breakfast where really good confy bed & plenty of selection on the buffet hot breakfast. We ate in the hotel on the evening & the food was undercooked and not good value at all, wouldnt recommend that at all, & people around me were also complaining about the quality also. Location was excellant & near all transport & shops .

Great location on Princes Street 5 min walk from the train station. Ask for a top floor room overlooking Princes Street the views are spectacular. Staff where excellent with any help or information. The castle was an excellent place to visit but the Royal yacht Brittania is a must see. Get a day rider for the bus and travel around Edinburgh for the day.
