I can't say we felt very welcomed or happy from the start... When checking in, we were supposed to have a different bed configuration (two queens but had two doubles). Difficult for our family with three adults. They blamed British Airways, with whom they had package offering, but we were the losers. No compensation was made, and they won't do roll outs allowed if anyone is over 12 years of age. They did come to us on the third day and offer to change rooms. On the whole though, our room was nice and well appointed, Euro-chic. Beds and bath are nice, which go a long way.
We ate at the hotel because it was the only place we could get into, literally, on a rugby weekend. Unfortunately, the hotel restaurant and bar are disasters. English was not the first language of our servers, so assistance in getting advice on drinks (the many whiskeys not available in the States) and food was less than helpful and slow. The restaurant is understaffed on a busy night, waits for simple things, like a drink or the check, was mind-numbing. Drinks are small pours and food is overpriced. One of our meats had been cooked to death. We were so tired we didn't even complain. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln... the breakfast here is traditional and sizable.
I'd stay again just for the location and the room and eat and drink elsewhere.
