“Feeling down at the heel”
Reviewed 1 April 2014

So many empty units. Must be at least 30% empty now.

Feels a bit downtrodden. Roof was leaking and the lift didn't display what floor it was on.

On the plus side you're well catered for with a number of chain restaurants on the same floor as the cinema.

“Mid sized mall with a bit of history attached”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

Two large stores (Debenhams and BHS) are the bookstops for the usual range of shops over 2 levels. Plenty of free parking.
Sited by the Firth of Forth, there are lovely views across to Fife. The Firth is also home to the Royal Yacht Britannia. The second floor restaurant of Debenhams gives good views of the "Yacht" without incurring the entrance charge of 12.50GBP pp.
A multiscreen cinema completes the attraction.

“Plenty to eat, see, buy and visit”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

A nice shopping centre just a couple of miles out of the city centre of Edinburgh and home to the former royal yacht Britannia. It's a nice setting - close to Newhaven and a very little used ferry terminal. The building makes the most of the views and it's nice to sit and gaze out to sea or the the Forth at least. Free parking makes it an attractive place to visit on a rainy day but that's about the only thing that is free here. There's a pretty average collection of shops and quite a few empty ones which isn't brilliant. Tried to buy a CD but HMV has gone now and there was only a meagre selection in BHS. There's a gym and a spa and a kids play area with ball pools and nets although it costs. Britannia is interesting but not more than once although the shop has some nice knick-knacks. There's a multi-plex cinema and a very wide choice of branded restaurants. I suppose it's better than Princes St but Glasgow tends to do this sort of thing better than Edinburgh and I can't help thinking this odd mixture of leisure facilities doesn't really work.

“Perfect for a rainy day. Free parking”
Reviewed 22 February 2014

The shopping aspect of the centre isn't anything to rave about. A mix of high street stores with no speciality. Lately many empty units fill the place giving it an abandoned atmosphere.

The advantage of free parking lures people in and the Vue cinema is great with a varied schedule of up-to-date films. The 24/7 pure gym is a bonus for locals living near by.There are many restaurants so it is decent for a bite to eat and cinema experience.

The only tourist attraction is the Royal Yacht Britannia which is worth a wander round if that interests you yet you are charged a fee so it isn't for everyone. The ship is is great condition and offers a headset tour guide.

“Great locations and amenities”
Reviewed 22 February 2014

Great location, just jump on the 22 bus from Princes Street Edinburgh (bus's run very frequently). It has a good selection of shops and places to eat, very clean and well presented. Has the attraction The Royal Yacht Britannia attached to the terminal and a Vue cinemas. It would be a great day out with lots to do, also I loved the sea view when eating lunch. Would visit again.
