The Chester Residence

We stayed at the Chester for three nights and our apartment 6/2 was just amazing. When we arrived we were greeted and shown around our apartment and welcomed with a glass of champagne, the apartment itself had a large lounge, bedroom and amazing bathroom with a big bath and TV. The quality of everything about the apartment is just first rate and it was a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful old building.
Around and about,
It was a five minute walk into the centre, we ate and had drinks on all three days on rosé street one of the main streets in the town and full of pubs and bars with wonderful food and great character. We visited the castle, holyrood house palace and also took a trip to Edinburgh zoo to see the pandas and the penguin march. You can catch the no 26 bus from princess street opposite Starbucks for £1.50 that's drops you off right outside the zoo entrance. All in all a wonderful stay at a top notch apartment.

Simply fantastic hotel in every way. Every member of staff was friendly and more than helpful. Excellent touches like champagne on arrival and petals on the bed with candles and even a star projector in our bedroom when we got home! Breakfast too was excellent and we both wanted to move in to the apartment!
100% recommended, stay here if you can

Well I booked the apartment after read the review from tripadvisor.
The reception and concierge team give us very good impression when we arrive by taxi. They welcome us in a cool weather with warm smiley face which made us feel like very important guest.
The apartment unit is well decorate with modern amenities. There's a supermarket abd restaurant down the road which is 10 mins away for us to purchase daily food and etc
The champagne breakfast is really Amazing and delicious.
We enjoyed the stay and sure will choose the apartment for next stay.

I can't recommend this place highly enough. My boyfriend took me here last weekend for my birthday and we had two nights of luxury with super friendly, helpful staff who really couldn't do enough for us.

We stayed in the Penthouse which has a great bathroom with a stand alone bath that was perfect after a day of walking!

We were also treated to a complimentary cocktail in the lounge and they paid for our taxi to the restaurant!

Really couldn't have asked for anything more, we will definitely return.

We arrived early to the hotel, although we were able to leave our luggage whilst we went to explore. Whilst we were out we received a phonecall to advise our room was ready. On returning to hotel we were pleasantly met and shown around our living space. The apartment was fantastic with excellent facilities. Our luggage and a glass of champagne was brought to the room. Loved the option if having drinks delivered to the room, there is also a nice lounge area where we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks. We mentionned where we were going the next day, it was no problem for them to book taxis. Breakfast each morning was fantastic. When going off for the day we were seen off. on return in the taxi we were also greeted, it is the little touches that make this place the quality it is. One of the evenings we went out to eat, although on the second night we decided to make the most of the apartment and order takeway. We mentioned this on the morning and when returned there was a selection of takeway menus. We had the romance package and were able to adjust the timings at the last minute to suit our new changes in plans. On the final day we left our bags to go off, we had a taxi booked for later. Whilst out in Edinburgh we decided we wanted somewhere nice to sit so we went back to the lounge area to wait for our taxi. Whilst waiting we were provided with some refreshments. Each member of staff took an interest in us to ensure we had an enjoyable time, although the back scene staff should also not be forgotten about as they do excellent work. This place is amazing and no wonder they keep winning awards and getting excellent reviews. We are already looking forward to our next trip

Took my girlfriend away for a night and was completely blown away. Nothing was too much trouble, and some great touches like a bottle of prosseco in our apartment on arrival, to the turn down service, and even the champagne breakfast made everything absolutely perfect.

My only wish is that we could have stayed longer. We were located on the annex building on Chester street, which was lovely. No noise from the street as the bedroom is located at the back overlooking the gardens and even when in the living room the noise from outside was minimal.

I can't wait to get back for another stay. Thanks for everyone at the Chester residence.

Let me just start by saying this place is simply stunning. Great way to relax and chill out. The decor, heated tiles, big bath all added to a perfect weekend away. The coffee selection in the room was excellent and the views lovely. It was also Easter and we were brought an Easter egg to the room by an Easter bunny.

I also loved how there was no tray charge for cocktails brought to the room, they were always served with a smile. The breakfast to the room was outstanding.

So why the 4 stars? If I could have given 4.5 or 4.9 I would however there were a couple of things that frustrated me slightly. The sound system that allows music tv etc to be played in every room was broken. I wasn't told of this when checking in and when I contacted reception nothing could be done about it, you know probably one of the many cocktails we ordered to the room being in the house would have let me forget about it.

The other slight frustration was the lack of way to watch some modern films. The sky is limited to the basic package and no way to pay for paper view, and the DVD collection in offer is dated to say the least.

Having said all of that we will definitely return as we absolutely loved the place and there is no better place to stay in edinburgh.
