“Great for solo travellers”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

I stayed near here on business and the food was a great option whilst i was there. It is ideal suited for the Edingburgh playhouse or for drinks starting out of an evening or when at the Omini centre.
The tables are a little packed in but there was also outside seating and some seats in the Omini centre so there are a few options.
Food was fast and drinks were available. Staff were friendly and business like

Brilliant, across the road from our hotel and next door to the Playhouse Theatre. This is in a complex with a cinema, Slug and Lettuce, Nando's and a few other eateries. We only stayed for a couple of drinks but it is cheap and cheerful and the staff are very helpful.

“Ok”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

We had 3 small meals for 10 GBP. It tasted fine, but the servings could have been a big bigger.
The staff is very friendly, but it was not a place that I would want to longer than it took me to finish my meal.

“Keeping up the standards”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

Lets face it, any Spoonies is always a `banker` when you pitch up for a meal /drinks.......The thing about the Playfair is that it sits within the Omni centre foyer adjacent to five other similar sized restaurants and HAS TO compete them & provide the best Wetherspoons standards possible!
The Playfair manages this to a good standard - It scores well as a value for money establishment It`s a more modern venue, pleasant enough staff and all in all it `does-what-it-says-on-the-tin`!......
Good access on foot, also near to the Tram line and bus routes - just the job when you`re legging it round town with your partner or mates and want to know what you`re going to get for your `hard earned`........
