“A great new addition to the Edinburgh eating scene”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 October 2012

This restaurant is, located in the Caledonian hotel, rebranded by Hilton as a Waldorf Astoria. We entered via the main hotel reception so we could admire the new look hotel; all very contemporary with a massive modern chandelier, then through to Peacock Alley, their new relaxed eating area. Then into the brasserie, I was a bit surprised at first because the room seemed so small, but there are two further rooms & we ended up in the last room, complete with Crustacean bar.
Lunch is excellent value for this standard of food at £15.50 for 2 courses. There's only a choice of two starters & two mains on the set menu but both were delicious & servings for lunch were a good size (probably larger than we expected).
Service was excellent, friendly but not intrusive & I would recommend to anyone for a lunch or special occasion. It's a bit quiet at the moment because its only been open a few weeks, so it's got a lower rating for atmosphere. I expect this will change; the crustacean bar looked great!
