We highly recommend fishing with Michael. We caught not one, not two, but three monster (21 inch) beautiful rainbow trout. Our son, age 9, who loves fishing, was thrilled. The trip had something for everyone in the family: great fishing, fantastic views and an authentic experience of the Scottish countryside, only minutes from Edinburgh. We look forward to fishing with Michael again sometime when we are back in Scotland.

This was a day when almost everything fell into place. Your enthusiasm for fishing made this a very easy day for me. It was brilliant to see Julian fishing hard and doing it by himself. He deserved to hook into these fish and what a battle we had getting the big one into the net. I look forward to meeting you again and thank you for an excellent review of Edinburgh Falconry & Fishing.. Michael Lynch

Went to Scotland for a little over 2 weeks for class. Met Mik close to the end of my trip when I went fishing with him and his friends and had such a great/ fun time I ended up going out with the hawks the following day with one of my classmates. Such a great experience for a visitor cuz Mik shows you parts of Scotland you wouldn't otherwise see. Let alone watch a hawk hunt!!! Top 3 coolest experiences of my life.

I first heard about Edinburgh Falconry and Fishing approximately one month before traveling to Scotland. I contacted Mik in order to request information and eventually book a day of fishing with him. Mik went so far beyond any reasonable expectation I had of a guide though, he could not have been more helpful. He provided me with meaningful, local advice and seemed more than happy to help me. Even before our day of fishing, Mik had proven himself to me. By the time I finally arrived in Scotland, I was eager to hit the water. Mik had us all rigged up and ready to go by the time we reached our fishing destination. In short, Mik put us on some beautiful fish on a day when few others on the river were having any measure of success. We caught a healthy selection of native Brown trout on the fly. All of which were spunky, acrobatic and above all else, gorgeous. Mik is a personable and knowledgeable guide who I look forward to doing more business with in the future.

This was a day that was eagerly waited on for myself and Jacob, we spent time getting to know each other with fishy stories, techniques, location and tackle. We fished the River Tay and everything was spot on apart from the dreaded East wind and bitter cold. Jacob & Jamie fished very well and managed to land 6 trout on the Fly using a strike indicator in the fast water. Sometimes it is difficult to watch someone fishing but to see it come together and fish getting hooked up was amazing. I have never tried a strike indicator and to see that method work very well when there was no other fish being caught has opened up my eyes...It was my pleasure to take you both out and thank you very much for an excellent review. I know we will get a cast again and I will have the net ready!!!!... Michael Lynch..

Highly recommend Mik as a guide, he was perfect from start to finish. Came to pick us up on time, took us to 2 other attractions he suggested earlier (Falconry and Church) due to bad weather in the morning and we proceeded to our fishing trip in the afternoon. Mik is very friendly and patient although we lost many of his baits! We managed to catch 2 big trouts, one rainbow and one brown trout. He also took care in explaining the history behind the attractions we saw along the way to the fishing trip. His pricing is extremely reasonable and he provides pick up and drop off direct to your hotel. And pictures sent straight after the fishing trip to my e-mail! Also, Mik was kind enough to come by the hotel the next day to drop off my scarf which I had left in his car, really appreciated his effort. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and trip!

We met Mick outside Bonnyrigg on a wet and windy day. However as soon as we got into the woods, the wind was calmer, the rain held off and we started walking with Mick's Harris Hawk flying close to us, a magnificent site. We were on the lookout for something to catch. We found a live rabbit hole and after 3 minutes, Mick's ferret flushed out a rabbit. The hawk was straight on it, catching it in a flash. What an amazing demonstration.

Mick clearly knew what he was doing and where to go. He explained what he was doing and told us where to stand. Seeing the hawk in its own environment but close up was fascinating.

This was an excellent and enjoyable way to spend a morning. Thank you Mick.

Hi Alison & John,
This was the day that started with a phone call to see if it was worthwhile due to weather, I confirmed it was and then had my doubts till you turned up. Once we got in the woods and Kass started following us I thought we had a small chance of a Hunt.. Once we found a small trail of a rabbit we were going to get a chase. It had to happen and once our rabbit was found by the ferrets Kass pounced and held on well. Good to meet you and I am delighted you enjoyed the Show... Best wishes..
