“Very Bizarre Experience”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

While traveling in Edinburgh, I was trying to find a place to eat with my 10 other friends. Obviously, we were struggling to find a place because our group was so big. A man was standing on the street outside of Rabbie Burns and he waved us into the bar. He accomodated our big group by taking us to a table down in the basement of the restaraunt. We were alone down there in the dark basement that smelled liked dirty. The cook (who looked very unkept) kept coming down to grab frozen foods out of a freezer room right by our table. Our food was tasteless and gross. It was not a good dining experience and I do not recommended it at all. Our server was very kind and he could tell we were upset, but it wasn't his fault. It was just a very weird environment with gross food.

“Great Experience!”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

We stopped by for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon and were very glad we did. The food was quite good, but the service was excellent. Our waitress was the best. When asked for some recommendations of whiskeys to try, she had a a few good ones for us and asked the owner what he thought. He came to our table and had her open several expensive bottles for us just so we could smell the aromas. We tried a few of his recommendations and were quite pleased. We would definitely go back the next time we are in Edinburgh!

“Great Whiskey Tasting!”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

We jumped into this place on a rainy afternoon and we very well looked after by the Landlord who gave us a superb whiskey tasting experience! Really great afternoon surprise. Friendly, warm local place.

“THIS ALI IS THE GREATEST!!!!”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

We flew all of the way from Swindon and stayed in a dodgy hotel around the corner. Whilst We stomped up and down the royal mile we came across the " Rabbie Burns". After an initial "shall we or shan't we pop in here for a bit of whisky tasting?"
Thank God we did, for out of the darkness came..............is it a bird, is it a plane, NO, it's SUPER ALI!!!!!!!
Possibly the World's best Turkish Scot. Not a thing this man didn't know about whisky.
We asked him for a selection of his favorites to both sample and try, and he didn't disappoint.
He gave a description of each, and even better, gave us a couple of house shots for free.
Advised well on potential purchases and even invited us to his birthday. See you in 3 months Ali.

“Awful behavior-we left immediately”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

We were treated really bad in this pub. We didn't get what we ordered and instead of this, they brought us something more expensive without even asking us. When we asked to get what we had ordered (which was cheaper), a very rude drunk man (I don't know if he was the owner or an employee) said that if we want to drink something cheaper we should go somewhere else. In fact he kicked us out! And what we had ordered costed quite much actually!
I had heard so much about this pub and they had lovely live folk music and I really loved to have a drink there. I was really dissapointed though and they made us feel very bad... Such a shame...
