“All you need! Great price!”
Reviewed 12 April 2013 via mobile

My wife and I stayed at this hotel recently during a trip to Edinburgh and were very impressed.

We took advantage of a deal we found online and managed to get our room for a Thursday night at a very small price. The hotel itself is basic and minimalist in style, but it has all you could need as somewhere to lay your head. The the location is ideal, a stone's throw from Haymarket train station.

The room was very small, but we were expecting as such. Although it was exactly what we needed. The price we paid was for the room only, and added on towels and use of the in-room television. No issues with that though, as somewhere to stay, it was excellent and suited our needs perfectly. Will definitely be back!

Just returned from a two night stay at the Tune hotel in Edinburgh. I booked the hotel just 9 days in advance and managed to get a double room with a window for £26 per night which included the optional add on of the £8 comfort package.

It is worth remembering that the hotel charge for additional services such as the use of the tv, safe, hairdryer and Internet. There is also a charge if you would like them to provide toiletries, towels or room cleaning services during your stay. The charges were very reasonable.

The room was not exactly spacious but was clean and comfortable. With a view of the west of the city. The shower room is compact but adequate. The hotel is located just 10 minutes away from Princess street and grassmarket areas.

The hotel is across the road from Haymarket station. Trains from cites all over the UK call here. Booking a train to this station will save you a 15 minute, £10 taxi journey.

The hotel is also just 20 minutes by bus from Edinburgh Airport and the airport bus which runs every 10 minutes from the early hours of the morning to after midnight drops off right outside the hotel.

The hotel easily beats any Premier Inn, Travelodge or Ibis hotel I have stayed in in Edinburgh over recent years. Great location, comfortable rooms and fair pricing policy will make this hotel my first choice when staying in Edinburgh

Room Tip: Twin rooms seem to be bigger than the doubles

We stayed there for three nights cant quite remembered how much we paid and it also had some kind of deal we found online. I have to admit the room is a bit of a tight squeeze but i'm not complaining hotels are usually for having a shower and sleeping in so. It's very modern and has this black and red decor which i quite liked, the staff were very friendly, in the hotel itself you'll find lots of flyers and magazines about Edinburgh, Scotland, highlands ect which we found very help full. It pretty much is in a great spot right in front the hotel is the train station, several bus stops around the hotel location many coffee shops, mini markets, take aways and it's around 20/30 minutes walk from princess street which is like this fashion high street and the Edinburgh castle is in walking distance to. Over all we loved it and it was worth every penny will go again and to other Tune hotels around the world :)

Room Tip: Room with a window

We paid over the odds for the room (£90) because it was a busy weekend (Six Nations). The room was very small but spotlessly clean and comfortable. There was not much space for clothes or any luggage - which was fine for us as we were only staying one night. If I'd paid less than £70 for the room I would say it was a bargain for Edinburgh. Great location - bang opposite Haymarket Station and within walking distance of the city centre and Murrayfield.

Took advantage of a recent promotional offer and stayed in this hotel on a Saturday night. Had read some reviews and was prepared for what to expect, but was still surprised.
On a positive note, with it's modern (but Scottish themed) red and black decor, the hotel was bright and cheery throughout, from the front door to the bedrooms. The staff we encountered were as cheery as the decor and extremely helpful.
My only negative would be (as most others have said) is that the room was very small - it was effectively the size of a double bed with just enough space to walk around it - I worry that the decor will soon show signs of stress as people manoeuvre themselves and their cases around the room - I also would imagine it would be difficult for a couple to get dressed up for a glamorous event such as a wedding for example. That said, the bed was extremely comfortable, the room was warm and the on-suite, although again on the small side, was clean and modern with a shower that I'm sure no one could possibly complain about! We had concerns about the windowless room but other than possibly sleeping-in (as there was no natural light to hint at the time - and did I mention how comfy the bed was!), we had no issues with this.
The location of the hotel was good - certainly if you come by train and get off at Haymarket then it would be perfect. When we were there the tram road works were still causing issues in the locality if you were driving. Parking is also an issue but we managed to park on a side street where charging stops at 6.30pm Saturday till Monday morning.
Although I've made the room size a criticism, that isn't really fair as Tune Hotels don't claim anything different - in fact if you were to rate them for how they fulfilled their description you would have to give them 5 out of 5. For an overnight stay in Edinburgh city at the price, it is probably hard to beat - if you get it for under £50 on a Saturday night there is really nothing to complain about - you should just congratulate yourself at finding a bargain and enjoy!! I will certainly check them out again for our next visit.

Stayed a the Tune Hotel on Saturday 6 Apr 13 using an Itison Voucher.
The room was tiny but absolutely spotless - we had an internal room with no window - it didn't feel that small though due to the lighting and also the mirrors.
We paid for the towel and toiletries which were £1.50 each - I would take my own towel and toiletries if going again though.
£3 for the TV for 24 hours which was worth it as it brightened up the room.
Staff were very friendly and very welcoming.
Hotel is directly across from Haymarket Railway Station and about a 10 min walk into Princes Street.
Would definitely recommend it as a cheap budget hotel.
