Owner description: At Cranachan & Crowdie you'll find all those quintessential Scottish food and drink souvenirs from thistle-shaped shortbread down to a humble bottle of Scottish water. But this range of trademark Scottish treats is certainly not limited. These Scottish foodies boast an exciting range that includes at least 8 different types of oatcakes alongside oodles of accompanying jams, marmalades and chutneys. Not to mention traditional Black Bun, award winning chocolates, traditional and whisky tablet and even Scottish dog treats. Those among us with special dietary needs needn't worry about being left out, as Cranachan & Crowdie offers a fantastic gluten free range of biscuits and beer to satisfy their Scottish-food-cravings. Cranachan & Crowdie are bringing the widest range of quality Scottish food, drink and gift products to the capital's doorstep as they always seek new, small producers, including acclaimed Charlotte Flower Chocolates, to introduce in the city. So if you haven't already been tempted by the Canongate's latest take on traditional Scottish food and drink shop, don't wait around to stock up on your favourite Scottish treats, and pick up a few new ideas while you're there. They'll even wrap it up in a gift basket for you! Gift certificates are available and make the perfect gift for any foodie. Free gift wrapping available year round.

We had popped in here looking for post card stamps and encountered very friendly staff. A nice browse later and we realised we discovered our favourite gift/souvenir shop in Edinburgh. Cranachan & Crowdie offer a broad range of goods, from jams and other types of local food products to woollens and soaps, all beautifully presented. Highly recommended for the discerning shopper.

Tiny shop but very busy inside. Despite all the others George took his time with us; we bought a picture frame made from a real barrel, needed weight to make sure no too heavy for our luggage. George even insisted on bringing all similar frames together so we could choose the unique one we liked best. While looking around we were encouraged to try free tasting samples. Nice assortment in store, unique items.

Thank you for your kind review Sue. We have shared this with George (he may have blushed) who really loves speaking with customers and making sure they leave with the perfect item. Enjoy your whisky barrel frame!

Beth

This is the best shop in Edinburgh. They have many unique items made in Scotland. Their inventory is not like most of the shops on the Royal Mile. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If you want a gift from Scotland, go here!
