The cooking concepts are creative though the final products don't really come together.
We had the fennel and apple soup which had a nice flavor but was a bit thin and also had a gritty texture. For main course we had the trout which was good though the vegetables that were served with it were overpowered by lemon juice. Desert was cookies and cream which sounds better than it actually was.
Our waitress made us feel rushed when she informed us she would be needing our table and could we please move to the bar.
The dining experience wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't anything note worthy.

Fantastic spot for a bite to eat. The staff are super knowledgeable about the food and beer on offer; a variety of keg, cask and bottled beer as well as a great food menu full of interesting British style tapas and other menu staples...the burgers are particularly good. Great venue, great staff and simply a great meal out!

The Vintage is doing something which the other miriad of Leith bars aren't. Namely a large selection of craft beers with cheery staff and a funky tapas-based menu. The food is excellent with lots of handmade yumminess to try (think spreadable chorizo, smoked sausages, pates etc). The staff are always top of their game and I'm becoming a regular.

The only downer is for the restaurant itself is that it is probably 50 metres the wrong side of trendy in terms of Shore location. As a result it probably misses some of the trade that it deserves. Highly recommended.

Worth a detour from Edinburgh as recommended by friends. Vintage is really serious about beer AND food. Owner and staff very friendly. Jugged rabbit very tasty, amazingly rich taste, dwhipped crowdie on sourdough fun, smokie fish cakes delicious. Also had herring tartare (fine), lamp whisps (not our favorites) and curried pork carpaccio (liked a lot). Seasonal greens OK, but clearly their heart not in that dish. Total of seven small dishes was more than enough for two hungry people, prices seemed very fair to us.

Maybe not for us but went here with 5 friends and had a mixed time.....place and decor is nice but food was poor compared to alternatives in that area. We had rabbit burgers and the roast lunch which hadn't been serve yet until 5pm on a Sunday....according to the staff....warning bells! The burgers seemed rubbery and the brioche was stale...which set us back 12.50 each.

For desert we had elderflower gel and rhubarb which was bizarre and we had one spoon and left the rest.

One good thing was the fish cakes starter...very nice but they failed to bring our starters altogether which isn't great.

Overall service was confused and food disappointing.

Lots of other places cheaper and better.
