Some tasty and slightly dishes, a nice change from Indian and Chinese. Good and friendly service. Excellent value for money.

“Bad from the start”
Reviewed 26 April 2014 via mobile

We arrived on time for our booking, only to be told they thought we were booked for 15 mins later, which was untrue as we had arranged babysitters for a specific time. The restaurant was full to capacity, so there was no where even for us to wait. We were assured that our table would be ready if we came back in 20mins. So we went out into the cold and pouring rain, returning at the agreed time only to see no tables had even started being cleared. We waited while the staff went to try and persuade a very drunk table of men to leave, who then made it clear they did not want to go. All the while we were standing in the middle of the restaurant very embarrassed. After 5 mins of this we just left. Out again into the pouring rain, but luckily we did find a great place to eat just down the road. We picked OGN tie because of the good food reviews, but its no use having good food if the service is so very poor.

Went for lunch and came away very happy. Lovely food, friendly service and at good prices!! Particularly recommend the pajeon (seafood pancakes) which very amazing. Additionally it is BYOB.
Our first visit but we will be back.

“Korean food i have serious doubts about !”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

Anyone that does not like ong gie's food can not be serious about food, I'm one of the most difficult persons to please when it comes to food but not really ! If the food is well done its all good that's the minimum anyone can expect anyway the bibimbap was the best I have tried in Scotland the Korean barbecue all of us really like it, the service was very good I look around and every single person was happy, there was different nationalities at the restaurant and really everyone looked very happy with the food seriously if you are in Edinburgh if there is something you should not miss is Ong Gie's if you have not tried Korean food yet then get yourself there now don't even think 2 times :) Korean food it has to be of of the great cuisines in the world
