Stumbled across this place on as Sat afternoon. Excellent friendly staff, great choice of unusual ice cream flavours and you are allowed to taste the ice cream before you buy. Highly recommended

This is a very simple cafe with good icecream. Not the best icecream i've had, but good enough to say that is good and feels home made and artisanal. Plus points for the lovely dog that hangs around and plays with his blanket!

A few minutes walk from the busy west end of Edinburgh, Affogato is a small cafe with a friendly atmosphere and a very friendly dog. It's ice-cream is delicious offering an imaginative range of flavours and the tempting but simple menu means that I'll definitely be going back. Prices are good value and the friendly, relaxed atmosphere feels far away from the busier restaurants round the corner.

We passed this café on the way to the city centre and were pleasantly surprised. (It is just off Princes Street, near the castle end. Well worth the effort.)
The flavours were fantastic. I'm not a big ice cream eater but this was too good to pass. I had two selections. The pear & amaretto and the fig & ricotta. Both were absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the marzipan and the vanilla. Neither of us were disappointed. It didn't even matter that it was a cold and blustery day! We enjoyed the flavours on our walk around the city streets.
I've not tasted such lovely gelato since our holiday in Sorrento last summer. The selection of flavours is wonderful. Hopefully when we return to Edinburgh we will be able to try some more. Excellent value at only £2.50 per tub, with your choice of two of their wide selection of flavours.
