This flat had a great location yet on a quiet street in Edinburgh's New Town. Our host, Margo, greeted us warmly and we were able to check-in early. A welcome basket was provided with wine, crackers, coffee and some other items, and the flat was spotless upon arrival.
We are 4 adults who rented this apartment in Edinburgh to see the Military Tatoo and visit the Edinburgh Castle as well as other sites.
Our stay was wonderful ! Margot is charming, thoughtful, and such a great hostess.
Our check-in was easy, and Margot was there to show us around. The next day, Margot texted us to find out if everyone was doing OK.
The apartment is close to all the sites in Edinburgh; we walked everyday; despite the rain on some days.
The apartment is clean, and the beds were comfortable.
Check-out was easy as well.
I would highly recommend Margot's apartment for anyone visiting Edinburgh.
Our family of four stayed here for 3 nights in early August, right at the start of the Fringe Festival which we knew nothing about. We learned quickly! It's the largest arts festival in the world! The population of Edinburgh doubled during this festival. And with all of the noise and excitement and people this festival brought, we were able to sleep near it, but in a clean, quiet, and safe apartment. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed, and the other bedroom had two singles where our teens slept. They reported that the single beds were shorter than normal. There was a full bath (shower, no tub) and a half bath (toilet and sink only), a kitchen, and a living/dining room. The ceilings were tall, like 12 or 15 feet high edged with gorgeous crown molding.
The host, Margot, and her sister-in-law Karen, were so easy to deal with. They welcomed us with milk, cookies, and a bottle of wine, which was quite thoughtful and a pleasant surprise.
There were no bad surprises here. Just a really good place to stay in Edinburgh.
Oh, the only negative was unlocking the front door. I couldn't do it, my teens couldn't do it. Luckily my husband could work the quirky thing.
I highly recommend this apartment!
The location was great. Never needed any transportation. It was difficult to find initially with lots of construction going on. The apartment was very spacious and kitchen had all the necessary things to eat in if you so choose. Margot wasn't there but her son handled all of our questions. Stairs were a bit precarious and I wish the shower water would have been a little warmer but no problem recommending this place.
From the first e-mail in november 2016 to the first step and the first meeting with Margot, we have had a wonderful stay. Very nice and comfortable flat to explore a city that has so much to offer, especially during the Fringe Festival!!! For sure we'll be back. Thank you Margot!!
We have visited the Fringe for the last three years and decided to stay in an apartment this year rather than a B & B.
We are delighted we made the change. The Apartment was wonderful, perfectly positioned, walking distance of Princes Street and bus stop two minutes away if you prefer.
We were welcomed on arrival by Margot who gave us a complete tour of the home and also left a box of groceries which was very helpful.
We will definitely be staying again.
The description did not promise too much. It is a beautiful appartment equipped with all you need, very clean and quiet although in walking distance to the beautiful city centre of Edinburgh. We appreciated Margot's warm welcome and we would highly recommend it to everybody setting value on quality and taste.
