My husband and I spent 7 nights at the Apartment by Castle in September 2012. We were in Edinburgh to celebrate my birthday and as I had stayed in this apartment previously with a friend I was keen to revisit with my husband. The location is perfect to get around the City easily and the hospitality and kindness shown to us by the owners, Moira and Eric, was second to none.. The welcome pack was greatly appreciated and the accommodation is modern, comfortable, clean and has everything you could possibly need during a break away from home. We ate out on a few occasions but also brought food in and cooked and there were plenty of utensils and equipment to do so - the only downside to staying here was that we had to leave!! It really was a home from home and we can't praise this apartment or the owners highly enough. Hopefully we will be back but in the meantime we will definitely recommend this apartment to others.

Our family of four (including two teenagers) stayed three nights here in mid July after five nights in London. I wish we could have stayed longer in Edinburgh. This apartment was modern, quiet, comfortable, clean, spacious, and has an incredible view of the side of Edinburgh Castle. I don't think you can stay any closer to the castle, actually. Our hosts were helpful and friendly from the first email inquiry (back in March) to helping us into our cab as we departed. The only thing that might not prove to be perfect for other guests would be if they are 6-footers who are not used to sharing a double bed (we are not that tall, and we are used to an American queen or king size bed, but we did fine in the double). The other bedroom has two standard twin beds. All-in-all, this was probably our favorite among five different accommodations during a 2.5 week family vacation.
