“Really good value and perfect location”
Reviewed 23 November 2013 via mobile

Great location near the Omni centre, bus stops, easy access to main streets, and connections to Leith, Airport etc. Really clean, modern feel, nice bar. Wish the Express range would improve breakfast, feel it could be improved at little cost to the hotel, but really add value for the customer :) - overall for a value brand stacks up well against the top end brands I've also stayed in.

I booked Holiday Inn having read the reviews and I must say I was not disappointed. Hotel is 5 minutes away from the main station, very close to historic place such as Edinburgh Castle, shopping malls, bars and stations. Hotel is very clean, room was very neat and tidy, bed was comfortable. Special thanks to Monica and Danny who are extremely helpful and polite and made sure I was well looked after.

Room Tip: I had double room, warm considering the cold weather and very quiet.

We cannot fault our 3night stay at all.
The location was brilliant for playhouse, restaurants and bars. Good bus connections very close and also only a short walk from lots of shops.
Our room was clean, modern, tidy and a very good size. Hanging space, shelf space, along with desk space and TV. The hotels Ironing room was really handy, although the irons could definitely do with replacing! Bathroom was lovely and a lovely powerful shower. Only downside was the ventilation in bathroom (extractor appeared not to work?).
The breakfast was brilliant. Good variety, plenty of seating and staff kept on top of clearing tables and mess away very quickly.
The staff were absolutely spot on, friendly, informative & more than prepared to help.
Would definitely come bak and would definitely recommend.

I stayed with my partner. I was sick as a dog and not expecting anything special when we arrived. The hotel is in a beautiful building. It is a nice place to return to. Our room was large and comfortable. We had a room overlooking the thearter district. Obviously it was noisy if you opened the window there was a busy road outside. The Hotel was heated well, the bathroom spacious and the shower hot. Hotel is approx 5 minute walk from the royal mile and train station. Great pubs in surrounding area for dinner
Included brekkie hot and cold was lovely, very relaxing to get up and have brekkie taken care of. I enjoyed my stay here and would consider this hotel again for future trips.

This place is very convenient if you are going to the theatres over the road but for just a shopping day it is not so. The buiilding is very old and creaks and the breakfast room is too small and cramped. I have added this as a poor for a restaurant even though its just breakfast.
As Edinburgh is an expensive city this hotel offers a lower price. No problems with staff or cleanliness so I guess that is the main thing.

Similar hotel experience to the Premier Inn but everything's included in the price. Room was large enough for two with a small ensuite shower room. This was the most disappointing aspect of our stay; it was difficult to adjust the temperature on the shower, the extractor fan didn't appear to work and a simple shower curtain (thought they had gone out with the ark - what's wrong with a glass door that doesn't stick to you!?). Good breakfast with hot and cold options - yogurts, crossiants, fruit plus a standard cooked breakfast offering. It is a little tricky if you collect your breakfast and have to take it downstairs to the additional seating area but the staff do offer to help. Free paper too!
Easy to find, just behind the St James Centre and John Lewis alternatively you can take the Leith bus from Princes Street.

Room Tip: Don't stay in 102, it seems to be on a thoroughfare from reception to other rooms and there'...

This is a great hotel in a great location. The staff was friendly and happy to help whenever questioned. The room was better than expected and very clean my only complaint about the room was the terrible tv remote but that's being picky. Moving on the bar was nice and relaxing but the drinks are very expensive. The location of the hotel is brilliant as it's in the heart of the city! The hotel has baggage rooms which allow customers after their stay to store there bags securely and further explore Edinburgh.
