We are just back from a weekend away in Edinburgh at the Ibis South Bridge. Our first impressions were of a lovely clean hotel, the room we were given was on the ground floor (actually floor 3 - the hotel is in 2 sections but the very helpful receptionist took us to the room to show us the way) and again everything was great. Our first night, we experienced some noise from a bar playing live music quite late into the night (it is in the city centre so you have to expect some noise). My husband mentioned this to a member of staff at breakfast, and they immediately apologised and offered to move us to another part of the hotel. By the time we had had our breakfast, we had the key to a different room (9th floor this time) and an offer to help move our belongings. Our second night was much more peaceful (unfortunately apart from the fire alarm which went off at ten to 4 - a result of a guest smoking!!). Breakfast was great - my husband went for the full cooked buffet and I had the continental. Again, the food was plentiful and freshly cooked, great value for money,

Overall, this hotel is in a fantastic location, only 5 minutes from both the Royal Mile and the Museum of Scotland, but what really made the difference was the staff, who couldn't do enough. A special mention should go to Niall for sorting our room change so quickly. We will definitely come back, but will be asking for a quiet room away from the pubs on the street outside!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the higher floors if you want a quiet night sleep

We stayed from 28th Feb until 2nd Mar. The only noise we suffered over the weekend was at 04:00 on our second night when the fire alarm went off but by the time we got to the door of the room it had stopped, false alarm apparently.
Our room was good with comfortable bed and pillows and the shower/toilet pod was very good. The rooms aren't massive but for a weekend stay was all we needed.
The buffet breakfasts were good, with everything you would expect for a full Scottish breakfast as well as serving continental breakfast from as early as 04:00 in the morning.
The 12:00 checkout also suited us for catching our train home.
All in all I would recommend this hotel, especially as it is new and has that new building smell. The room keys use proximity technology so no keys, no swiping cards, just hold the key card up against the sensor. Note this is also used in the lifts where before you can go up in the lift you have to use your key card to activate the lift before pressing the button.

We, as a hospitality business, prioritise our guests well-being and security amongst anything else and our fire procedures kept all our sleepers safe. Excellent location, all new facilities, spacious pod bathrooms, super comfy beds. The staff were friendly and the wifi worked everywhere. We had no noise at all (room 766), not from the street, the neighbours or the night clubs (we stayed Friday to Tuesday). Only problem was no phone plug next to the bed. I would definitely stay here again. Exit to Cowgate on the 3rd floor until 11pm.

Still smells new!!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable The room was very clean. Kettle, tea/coffee included. Flat screen TV with Freeview only.

We were on the 4th floor, and needed to use the key card to access the lift, the floor, the room, so very secure.

As we stayed there at the start of the week, it wasn't too busy. We arrived early, before check in time, and our room was ready. Even if it hadn't been, there is a luggage room to leave your bags so you can go exploring until the room is ready.

Very close to the Royal Mile, walking distance from Princes Street. Lots of takeaway foods shops, bars and restaurants close by.

Bus service at the door all the way to Ocean Terminal (no. 35)

Stayed here for two nights recently and we were delighted we chose this hotel.
We had a large and very comfortable room, spotlessly clean.
The breakfast buffet had something for everyone.
Very friendly staff all round and we were able to check in at 9am on the morning we arrived.
There is a supermarket next door, the Scottish National Museum is around the corner (well worth a visit) and the hotel is very close to all the main sights in Edinburgh. Several bus routes stop an the street outside.
Overall excellent value and very well run.
