Owner description: The Edinburgh Dungeon is the scariest, funniest journey through Edinburgh's darkest history; a unique, award-winning visitor attraction that brings together an amazing cast of theatrical actors, special effects, 360 degree sets and 2 thrilling rides in a truly unique and exciting walk-through experience that you see, hear, touch, smell and feel. It's hilarious fun and sometimes a bit scary. Shows are based on real Scottish history, minus the boring bits!

Of all the times we had been to Edinburgh, we had always done other things, and our visit was planned for The Dungeons today, I went with my 14 year old sons, and we had a brilliant time, we were entertained from start to finish, the characters were spot on, and the interaction really made it , we loved it, great fun.

Having both been to London and Amsterdam dungeons, it was fair to say that Edinburgh tops them! The characters and stories were great. However, be prepared as there’s a lot of things which you aren’t expecting or ready for. Probably a little scary for children under 8 as a few people had to leave our tour as their children were scared. Gutted that we never got to go on the drop ride at the end - I guess it wasn’t working? Highly recommend as £13 is a bargain for 90 minutes worth of scary fun!

Loved how the staff kept in character throughout. The cannibal girl was fantastic. Great laugh especially when they got the audience involved.

Might be too frightening for young children! Actors and set designs are brill. Maybe go if it's raining.
