Silverknowes has a sensational setting and on this day the pleasant Kingdom of Fife was visible in its pomp. The purpose of our visit was to see if our dog could stand watching us hit balls without disappearing over the horizon, but despite the travails caused by the hound we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The greens were akin to Muirfield at the open- just lightening.
The course does have two boring flat holes the 6th and 7th spring to mind to all the others are definitely excellent holes. Getting a drink afterwards was tricky and there seemed to be a rule that you cant drink outside.. the problem of being a council, who are rule crazy, run course.
But great golf at a great price and a strange chap called Plough comes out for a chat afterwards.
