We had a fantastic time staying at Garfield. To start with Michelle and Martin are perfect hosts. They accomodated our request for an early check in and extended the welcome by preparing tea n breakfast while the room was being prepared. The location is also nice with a beautiful view. They helped us with guiding the best tourist attractions to see in the limited time that we were there. Although we stayed for one day only, but their hospitality made us so happy that we recommend this for longer stay also if people choose be longer in Edinburgh. Being Vegeterians they took special care of us for the breakfast and provided a detailed info on the city tour buses. Thank you Michelle and Martin, we hope to come back some day.

Room Tip: Room facing the street have a nice view of the palace.

Upon our arrival we were greeted with nothing but kindness and happiness! The hosts Michelle and Martin were incredibly nice and cheerful and excited for us to arrive. We were shown to our room and given tips on things to do but also tips on the bus system to and from downtown. The room was on the older side but it served it purpose. The bed was comfortable and it was very quiet. The room was not updated with modern touches but it was clean and comfortable. Parking was convenient and the location to the bus stop was great. The breakfast was very tasty and a good portion to keep us full for the majority of the day. The B&B is also a working pizza restaurant which was nice except when we tried to eat there unfortunately they were closed that night.

We stayed here for 3 nights after reading previous trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. The staff were really friendly and helpful despite this being the busiest time of year. We had room # 9 which is connected to the back of the kitchen area, but noise and smells weren't an issue and the room was modern and very spacious. The location has a great view over sports fields to Edinburgh castle, you could catch a cab for around £7 into town which took about 10 mins or the # 23 bus for £1.50 which takes around 20mins, or you could walk too as its a lovely walk in, and very close to botanical gardens. Breakfast was great, although if you are leaving early make sure you order breakfast well in advance of when you need to go, otherwise it can be quite rushed. Overall a great place to stay and I would stay again.

Me and my partner stayed here for my birthday it was our first time to Edinburgh. We stayed in room 9 which you had to walk through the kitchen to we didn't care as they were not bothered about you walking through. the staff are so friendly and helpful in fact just amazing really. got to be the best guest house we've stayed in! Highly recommend!!

We arrived in Edinburgh in a rain storm but our stay was made pleasant by our hosts, Martin & Michelle, who went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable.
They recommended the best way to get around the city and their breakfast was substantial and excellently prepared.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the front, with a view of the Edinburgh skyline
