This was the first time I had stayed in a Premier Inn and I was more than delighted. Not only did we have stunning views overlooking the sea and the Forth bridge, the room itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with everything you need(including a good size tv on the wall). The room was a good size with plenty of room to swing a tiger!! The bathroom had a hand wash dispenser and also a hair and bodywash dispenser......ideal if you forget your soap! Again the bathroom was spotlessly clean, but one thing to be aware of if you have limited mobility(like myself) is that the side of the bath was quite high and I found it a little difficult to step into the bath.I did manage it and it's only a very small point with everything else being so wonderful! Our room was on the 2nd(top) floor but there is a lift,so no problem there.Every part of the hotel we saw was spotlessly clean and still had that "new" smell. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and extremely friendly and always with a smile! The Brewer's Fayre next door is typical of these kind of eateries with decent pub meals at normal prices, although the portions are probably a bit bigger than most. The drinks I found to be a little pricey at £5.20 for a double vodka and lemonade but if you just have a drink or two in the pub there is an asda just across the road where you can pick up something cheaper to have in the comfort of your room whilst enjoying the view from your window!(from which...to the left hand side....we overlooked Newhaven Quay and lighthouse, which lights up and changes colour at night). There is a bus stop on the road outside the hotel and for £3.50 for a day ticket,it is cheaper and easier to leave your car at the hotel and use the very frequent buses.A taxi into town/from town is around £9 if you've had enough walking or just want to get there a little quicker! All in all a fantastic break at a fantastic hotel and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.I can't wait to come back again!!

Room Tip: Ask for a seaview room, you won't regret it! Also be aware that at the moment (april 2012) they a...

One of the best Premier Inns I have stayed in. It is in a lovely location right by the sea. We had a gorgoeus view from our room and it was so quiet. We had a lovely welcome when we checked in and all the staff were so helpful.
The restaurant next door served really good value meals and the breakfast was lovely.
There is an Asda just five minutes away which was so convenient.
Will stay here again when in Edinburgh.

This Premier Inn is sited in the perfect location for a great stay in Edinburgh. It is buy the water and has great views to the Forth Bridges. Staff are great and there is a superb bus service in and out of the city for just £3.50 per day. Stay here and be lulled to sleep by the lapping waves and be in the city in no time to see the sights. the royal yacht Britannia is moored just around the corner. Would recommend to all.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view.

We recently returned to stay for two nights at The Premier Inn Newhaven, by Edinburgh, after a break of many months. The refurbishment has really brought this excellent location back to its premier condition. Last time we were there, many months ago, its appeal and location had resulted in it becoming rather tired from use …but this is no longer the case. We were unable to get a harbour view room, due to the high occupancy and our late booking, but our car park view room was newly refurbished and everything was excellent. I might complain very slightly about only two teabags on the tea tray, but that slight omission was rectified without our comment the next morning, so was simply an oversight. We did not eat breakfast, preferring to eat out at various places we were visiting, but did have one evening meal at the restaurant and it lived up to the expectations of that chain.
All in all, a great base for exploring Edinburgh and on several bus routes.

The fact that there were workmen in the location in no way detracted from our stay as they were very quiet and very friendly when we did meet in the car park!

Room Tip: Get a Harbour View if possible.
