It was our first place to stay in in Scotland and I was absolutely happy of our choice. The room was clean and comparatively quiet, overlooking the sea (please note that there is a promenade between you and sea, so it's better not to book the room on the first floor). WiFI was in the room for reasonable money. Stuff is helpful and friendly. And the most important thing that the sleep facilities were great, which was very important after walking all the day around Edinburgh tourist's attractions.
You can get to city center by bus (about 20 minutes) or by taxi (about 10 GBP), the bus stop just opposite the main entrance.
I can's say anything about food as we didn't have any breakfast where, but I would defonately come there again.More
